DE Kendell Jones just committed.

No ranking on 247, but he apparently had a great day at camp yesterday

The H.S. is about 2 miles from the house.

CLAY — Clay-Chalkville rising senior defensive end Kendell Jones has committed to Mississippi State.

Jones posted this message on his Twitter account Thursday night: “Instead of waiting till the Openingi decided that i will take my Talents to Mississippi State #HailState.”

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Jones has other scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, North Carolina State, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy and Western Kentucky.

Jones named Mississippi State his leader last month. He camped there earlier this week.

As a junior last season, Jones totaled 18.5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Gonna lose a few more most likely...

It's a different type of recruiting we're doing this year...

We had 20 commits 2 days into summer camp. We were always going to "lose" a few guys. Better OM "flips" them than we drop them.

Realistically, where were these guys on our board as of today? I realize we accepted commitments early -- but that was also before Khane Pass, Peters, etc appeared to be leaning our way...

I feel like Mullen is setting a good Christian example with these acts of charity. Maybe it will get Freeze to convert to Christianity. Prayers sent.

The Florida writers have been ripping him a new one today. Says his offer list is bogus and he's not as good as advertised.
