The last 5 crystal ball predictions for Javon Patterson have gone to Auburn.
The Freeze to Malzahn pipeline is going strong.

So if we get Danley and Pass that will put us at 15 commits already.

And we can likely sign 27-29 due to having a large SR class and this springs class having a couple players who won't qualify.

I guess I'm still confused on the signing rules.

As Am I, but I think its all about signing players in Dec who enroll early. Juco and HS players like Nick Fitz did and like Virgil and Danley likely this year.

85 is the total scholarship limit. You can only sign 25 kids each year, but December graduates count to the previous class. So if you sign less than 25 you can use those spots on early enrollees in the next class.
In the last class we signed a total of 24. 2 of them (Fitzgerald, Joc Johnson) enrolled early so that leaves 22. At least 3 more (Durr, Jordan Harris, Ravian Pierce) are grade risks. That takes it down to 19.
What that means is we can sign a total of 31 this time around as long as 6 of them can enroll in January and we don't go over the 85 total scholarships.

Basically what Jumbo is saying is that MSU will end up with a top 10 class! Maybe even top 5. Based on numbers... :)

If we don't quit slow playing this kid we are going to end up on the outside looking in.

He has to camp and show he can play OLB. If he can play can standing up, he's good. I don't think we're slow playing b/c he knows the deal. That said, I wish we would have already given a comittable offer but I don't think the staff is being unfair if what has been reported is accurate.

Yeah I asked Paul on 24/7 why we didn't just give him and offer and tell him he had to come to camp like with so many other prospects and he said it was likely because Walker has stated that he would commit on the spot, given an offer.
