The bigger question - what do we want this board to be in the future?

Add posters from other teams who actually want to be here to generate traffic and interest. We've tried recruiting other UK fans (which isn't as easy it sounds BTW, especially on a football centric board and you can't exactly just go advertise it on other major UK boards without the risk of being banned).

The goal should be to produce good discussion at this point.

Most of the UK fans I know in person who don't already post on message boards (and have tried here), don't do message boards.

Scout, Rivals, and 247 all frown upon it because they consider it you taking their views/business. KSR will not approve it for their comment section if you try to plant a link there or recommend a site. When I was an admin for a smaller but popular UK site we had a policy against it (especially if someone was regularly linking another site like this).

I'm not aware of anyway to back channel that.

I mean you're more than welcome to try yourself, but I'm just speaking from experience that small sites will likely not be any more receptive because it's very dog eat dog.

Was the small site you were a part of based in the Ville or was it all somewhere else and it was just electronic fill back and forth?

They used to because we'd try to troll the hell out of them and it'd never show up You're probably right though with how big the site has gotten it's probably easier for them to just delete comments instead of approve them now.

Cheese the site I worked with was "based" somewhere else. Admins were UK folks from all over. It started as a small site then merged with another then split again. It no longer exists now.

I know they used to block IP's if it was coming from a site that did not adhere to the party line. I know there were some groups from the local community that tried to interject opposing data to what Todd & Co wanted out, especially in relation to seats that would be lost in Rupp they were not being open about.

Not sure if that is still going on but I do not go there much so unless somebody links me there I generally don't read it.

They did this a lot when KSR was pushing that Louisville woman in the Hooters thing years ago and it was coming out that she was actually a UL fan. They also were letting their buddies post and not ride herd when they wanted to make something appear more popular than it was. Just lost too much credibility in my book by that time. Not saying Combs or Bromley were perfect but at least they were held to a higher standard on reporting and common sense.

Mizzou board has been accusing me of it for months so why not feed their fantasy for awhile if it seems to make them happy. I will be back to the good old USA unless Chicken makes a Sewanee one or a SEC one. roadGator is doing it too so maybe it is becoming trendy.




Are you going to attend any UK volleyball games soon? Might be a good run this season and I know they are pricing the seats higher plus starting a "donation" this year for volleyball so they are gonna have to move up a level and push the Gators for top dog in the SEC.

Not sure about volleyball, have never been to one, but do plan to attend a few UK Hoops games. Matthew Mitchell is set to take over the SEC in Women's basketball.

Usually it is the Gators and Vols with UK in the hunt but there was a mass exodus from UT this spring and UK is on the upswing. On the other side it was Arkansas and TAMU but not sure yet who will rise in the west this year. The big issue is not enough SEC schools are playing tough OOC games during the season.

Cats have been scheduling tougher than most and it seems to be getting more national attention. Here was last years OOC :
