I've seen it on other boards and I'm pretty sure I've seen the idea brought up here before. Not sure why it hasn't been implemented already or if it could even be done here. But it would be a way where people could vote anonymously on different issues and would determine a clear winner.

People could be voted on or off of team boards, site changes could be voted on, vote for who the most hated school in the SEC is, etc...

Would be cool if all members could create a vote to be done. But if only the admins of the team boards could start them on their respective teams boards would work as well.

If the regular admins could make it so that you have to have access to use the upvote/downvote, it would work just fine. As it is, you can upvote/downvote on any board, even the ones you don't have access to

Are you serious? This is a free site. Shut up and sit down.

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten whacked. The thread I started last night to the Bama admins basically stating the same thing and laying out a voting process was whacked this morning. It's pretty clear that they don't give a crap and won't listen to any opinions other than their own. There are multiple threads on this stuff and they decide to whack mine which has nothing negative in it.

I have tried to be a voice of reason and use some veteran cred to come up with a solution that all could be happy with but its obvious where I stand after 6-7 years of respectful posting.

I can simplify my recommendation even more.

I know there is a link setup for the college pick 'em. So just have the admins set up a list like that except it is a list of user that have requested access. You can click yes, or you can click no.

This way no one except the admins know who voted yes and no so there is a sense of anonymity in voting. The results are then sent to you and your word is final. After a decison is made a list can be posted of who has gained access. Anyone who has a problem with it can deal with it or risk losing access to their team board.

I know I don't carrry much weight around here but I'd say this is a simple idea.

Not sure what you're talking about?

I think a lot of people on here take this site and the Internet in general way too seriously.

I come here for entertainment, nothing more nothing less. I don't try and request changes to the guys that run this site because
1. I don't care to
2. I'm pretty sure they have everything handled and running how they want. If not, then they will fix it.
3. It's a free site

Damn, I've drank too much coffee this morning.

I just want the members of the board to have a say over who can post on the board.

Do as we have done on the Bear Rant and start a thread for said discussions.

Chicken, please keep it simple and try to keep in mind why the team forums were created in the first place.

The Tiger Rant model is probably best you could hope for out of the team boards but I realize it will not happen over night.

-End this madness clusterfrick of voting, politicking, and backroom selections. It just bogs down all the forums and increases resentment.

-Zero Tolerance on outside fans trolling/flaming/post spamming the team boards but keep them accessible to posters legitimately wanting to discuss the other teams' sports on their board.

-Use your best judgement on granting access in an effort to keep the riffraff out in the beginning.

-Give the Team board admins the ability to ban problem posters from their forum with just cause.

-Keep the SEC Rant just as cutthroat and open as always

Hopefully one day all the team forums can be as informative and stimulating as the Tiger Rant.

And that's all I have to say about that.
