What would your perception of Mullen be if he doesn't beat Georgia and win the East?

If this isn't the year, when is it the year?

Ole Miss / LSU / UGA- 2020

Bama / LSU / UGA - 2021

aTm / LSU / Utah - 2022

If Mullen can't beat Kirby this year, is Mullen the Jim Harbaugh of the SEC East?

Also, let's flip the script. If Mullen does finally beat Kirby, what does that say about Kirby?

I do think that we finally get over the hump and beat Georgia but I am worried about our defense taking a step back and not confident in Grantham as a in game play caller. I see us dropping either Tennessee or ole miss tho.

Finish 10-2 or 11-1

wouldnt change. mullens will win 10+ games every year and at some point he'll win a natty. its pretty much lsu and uga games to decide our season. we play bama once in a blue moon.

im thinking 10-3 / 11-2. 12-1 and winning the east wouldnt suprise me any year. 9-4 should always be considered below average at UF.

Clock is ticking on Mullen taking control of the SEC East but you have to remember where this team was when he took over. I think that there will be a bigger reaction from mutt fans toward Kirby if they lose to UF.

This year is big. The problem really is offensive recruiting is lacking. That will catch up to us next year.

Next year Jones at QB will be a smooth transition though. Issue is, who catches the balls he throws?

This is a title year though for us. If he misses here I'm worried we are stuck in 9-10 win seasons without titles to show.

I think the defense will be nasty personally. We have the linebackers now, and if someone can step up at corner opposite of Elam, this defense will be nasty.

We have a loaded LB core even if some of it is young. Best DT group we've had since 2012. Good ends and pass rushers. Safeties should be good if English actually figures out how to get them organized presnap finally.

If we can cover outside in single coverage Grantham can create chaos. Big issue will be if Dean or Wilson is ready to finally do this.

As for offense. We have a lot of playmakers. If the Oline is even average we will score enough to win every game as long as the D keeps up.

He has done an amazing job so far. But if he cant do it this year then doubt will creep up to if we've seen his ceiling.

Dabo lost to Spurrier at South Carolina his first 5 years. What if they had not been patient with him? You guys are crazy putting any kind of time frame on this.

Mullen is a great coach and Kirby has built a hell of a team. It will happen for us eventually. I am enjoying being back in the top 10 for now. Been a hot minute since we were there on the reg.

The worry is Kirby is building an even bigger monster. His recruiting is just better and better. Now he has two five star QBs behind Newman and a five star at every position.

We did very well with last years class because of transfers and a few stud players and a decent star ranking. Right now though..this current class has a pathetic average star ranking. Mullen flat out refuses to prioritize recruiting star players on offense, or just is unable to.

So this year we have a ton of advantages on the field and Georgia has a lot of changes in coaching and the QB room is new. If he cant do it this year, he may never be able to. This current class has to get substantially better, or we are actually regressing. Way to many shitty signings this early taking up scholarships.

If Florida is going to get over the hump, this is the year. Mullen has a much improved OL this year, returns 12 of 17 on defense with 250+ snaps, has the highest blue-chip ratio UF has had in many years, and returns the best QB in the SEC east. They also have an easier SEC west draw. Not to mention having an AA TE, and numerous weapons on offense.

If they can't, with those variables, beat UGA and win the east this year, IDK when they will and I think it spells trouble for Mullen.

Our confidence as fans is a bit shaken after the drought we have had, but honestly, if this were 10 years ago we'd be talking national title with this team coming back, not just hesitantly hopeful that we can win the east. If Mullen is a championship coach, he wins the SEC east and perhaps the whole SEC this year.

The biggest X-factor is all the craziness, the pandemic etc. Hopefully he can keep his guys focused and the season happens.

what's crazy is we have the same gauntlet next season that georgia has this season.

Yeah if it’s not this year it’s probably not until 2022 and that’s a problem.

Even if we don’t make the playoff, I’d rather just beat Georgia. Couple that with a NY6 bowl, that’s still “improving”.

There are teams this year that are still better than us. I think Fields is better than Trask, and OSU always has a better path to the ‘ship than any SEC team.

Mullen needs to beat UGA. He can not be Kirby's bitch anymore.

This year seems like the best team since 2009.

2009 wasn’t that great. 2008 > 2009.

Of course, but that 2009 was still loaded and just lost 1 game. 2nd best team in the nation that year.

2012 was elite too. That loss to Georgia was a clusterfrick of turnovers(half our season turnovers in one game, half just bad fumbles without real impact forcing them).

This team should be that team. We may not dominate most teams, but we are good enough to win every game on the schedule without a lot of mistakes.
