I sure as hell can’t think of any. Oof.

Still rooting for the boys. In all kinds of weather…

Defense played fairly well given how many shitty situations the offense (and Napier) put them in.

Now, Muschamp had an amazing defense.
Will’s O put them in crappy situations repeatedly too.

Probably won’t spend much at StubHub this season.

Grades:
Offence C-
Defense C+
Special teams D-
Coaching D.
All and all a really piss poor effort considering UF had plenty of time to prepare. Billy has loads of work to do to pull out more than three wins this season. IMO, this is the true test if he can coach or not. Barring a complete melt down off the field by players he'll have a third year but he better make some monumental strides now or he's lost the team and his job.

I think the defense will be better but I can't believe Princely let that true freshman tackle handle him some of the game though.

i just hope we can hold the recruiting class together and win 8 games next year with a depth chart full of freshmen and sophomores.

i wouldn't put money on us winning 7 games this year.

we saw a completely unprepared team last night.

napier is a kool-aid salesman.

Are we really that young with all these transfers starting though? I am curious how many true first and 2nd year starters we have as a redshirt sophomore is a veteran 3rd year player.

next year. if we can hold the recruiting class together i hope we have a depth chart full of freshmen and sophomores. an upperclassmen here and there.

we are a bad, unprepared "team". they aren't gonna fire the walking, talking self-help charlatan we have as an excuse for a head coach.

just wanna have a good roster that the coach of the 2025 team can hopefully hold together. we're in football purgatory til at least the '25 season.

napier should just do the right thing and resign. i didn't like it when they hired him and i like it even less now. he's never proven himself as a good X's and O's coach. he's just another pied piper/used car salesman/preacherman who can talk the talk, but can't walk the walk.

His game management has been really bad since he got here. I am still holding out some hope he can right the ship in 2024.

Mertz and WRs played well minus the int off Ricky’s shoulder.

Collins and Searcy are young dogs.

James was everywhere

———

Slaughter got bullied.
Foster is trash

Pretty disappointed in Princely vs a Frosh OT.
DL didn’t do as expected.

Why was Odom out there so much on pass plays, he’s slow AF

Not a good night when Mertz has our longest run and our leading rusher minus the sack yardage

First play of the game

Defense settled in late, but let’s not act like they weren’t arse in the first half
Had me openly apologizing to P.Toney

Looking at the 5 sacks 3 were clearly on poor blocking but 2 of them Mertz didn't get the ball to an open target. One was because he slipped and couldnt regroup in time and the other one he just didn't make the pass for some reason.

Someone reviewed Mertz passing plays and said for what the throws were he basically had the standard game he had most times at Wisconsin but he had a lot more passes than he usually had in those games. We damn sure aren't going to beat any decent teams throwing the ball that many times. Utah was loving that we got reduced to that.

Last year we won the first game against Utah and were all ready to buy tickets to Atlanta. This year...

It's a long season. Have to stay even tempered. That's what Billy told me in ALL the podcasts I watched this summer. lol

Regardless, even though I don't think Billy will/should be fired after this year (barring 11 more games that look like last night's), I have a feeling we will know after this year if Billy is really the guy. I doubt a 3rd or 4th year will be more insightful.

Mertz was decent, receivers played well, and I liked Odom at tightend.

Here’s a positive: It’s not as good or bad as it feels.

We weren’t as good as we looked against Utah last year, and we’re not as bad as we looked this year.

We will find out in 2 weeks when Tenner comes to town.

Unless they struggle against Mcneese next week then it might get ugly

But for sure this defense is not equipped to handle a no huddle.

I'll keep my optimism until after the Tenner game
