Anything less than 9 wins would be disappointing.

Auburn and ole Miss look beatable, ole Miss mostly because it’s at the swamp and they’ll be hungover from the lsu game. They don’t look quite as good as last year so far tonight but Louisville is solid and it’s early in the year.

Besides that we have a pretty manageable schedule

The 3 games that should likely be losses are @ Texas, UGA, and OU

@mizzou and @KY might be tricky too but based on what I saw yesterday, we can win there, especially Mizzou being in October.

Maybe we drop one of the latter and best OU but by all
Accounts 9-3 should be a reasonable goal to set as a successful first season for this staff

8-4 is most likely imo. We know how these teams can look beatable and then seem to play good against us. Not sure if KY has any defense at all but they look like they may have some offense this year. If KYs defense isn't too bad I think they may beat Bama but that is a big if. We need Ole Miss to beat LSU so they are still feeling good about themselves when we play them.

that’s probably the safe bet but under Billy we set expectations so low every year and still whiffed.

I believe in this staff that they can get to 9 wins. Defense needs a lot of work to get there and I’ll be a bit disappointed in the DC if that doesn’t happen.

9-3 is possible but won't be easy. I think Vegas set a good number at 7.5 for the win total. I am really curious to see this team against Auburn to get a better feel for how good it might be.

completely agree but as you said it’s possible.

It’s not like I’m calling for 16-0

It’s a stretch goal that is achievable and we need to start expecting achievable but tough goals out of our coaches if we actually believe that they are any good.

I feel better about the Auburn and Ole Miss games but that doesn't mean I expect to win them. We will see. Next week won't tell us much either. Just have to patiently wait until the Auburn game to get a real sense of what the true ceiling for this team is.

We need Ole Miss to beat LSU so they are full of themselves coming into the Swamp.

First year..remember..first years are usually rocky at times. 8-5 is my guess Napier left a mess to clean up.

It will take a few years to wipe all the shite Napier left Jon. Will take a few years to fix. Luckily, we have a great coaching staff but we need the talent too. So year 1 and 2 can be weird..but by year 3, I would easily bet we are 10+ in wins.

Look
I really enjoyed what I saw on Saturday night, I think Fau has a very good offense, and may win 8 or 9 games this year, now will they I don't know
I do know that Florida played and looked much better then I expected, and Sumerall looked like a coach that was under control all game and had his team ready to play, no special teams blunders or crazy things happening on the sidelines

But the Defense definitely have some things to work on!!! I know the secondary is young and will have some issues especially against a team like Fau that run a hurry up air raid
Hopefully as the season goes along they get better, the D- line not getting much pressure on the QB is a major problem, the D- line was very unimpressive and I understand Fau returned almost everyone and are experienced but still or ends didn't get much pressure and the line wasn't impressive,
I thought the biggest issue was going to be the O- line all year and they seem to look much better then I expected, if they continue to improve and play better this offense has alot of potential, we have all the weapons needed to be very explosive offense

I have to give Billy a little credit he didn't leave the cupboard bare for the next coach, I know Sumerall had to keep them here but they were here

Im not going to give a record yet or say this team is this or that, I will say maybe I was wrong about Sumerall , will see as the season goes but he has his team ready to play with no blaring mistakes and it was very nice to see, the cultural change
Brad White is a Veteran DC even though im not a fan, hopefully they will improve as the season goes as well
It was a great way to start and will see how much improvement we see as season progresses

It's Year 1. Until proven otherwise, we're gonna struggle on the road. Difficult schedule. Other teams will improve. Should win the last 3 easily. 6-6 or 7-5 is a bit more realistic after week 1.

I expect 8 minimum after what I saw, assuming we stay healthy in key spots. The defense will continue to get better as the year goes on - I think. Our offense is going to score a lot of points this year.
