Our defense overall has speed to burn...very quick reaction time and in open spaces they close in a hurry. They missed a few tackles and that you credit to the other guy making a play. When you can hold teams to 125 yds or less rushing the ball in SEC play....you stand very good chance to win.

If anyone noticed UK kept running the ball even though it was futile...why? Because their coach knows they had to get yards on the ground....and actually finished with only 40 yds less than us. The shutting down of their run game caused many mistakes by Towles because of pressure. He was battered constantly and I know some of his inaccurate throws were caused by pressure, real or even imagined.

I am hoping UK takes out their frustration next week at home against Mizzou. They also play UT at home They should get bowl bid if they take care of business. They have AU at home + Vandy Moo State and UGA as road games...they have 3 OOC games left that are very winnable....7-5 is doable and if they upset someone on the road 8-4.

Grier did ok yesterday and his learning curve this year will be steep. Seemed like he was told to take off quickly due to the state of our OL. He also needs to hold on to the ball better.

I'd be cool with trying a new kicker. I have little faith in Hardin right now.

Not looking forward to next week.

You do realize that Tennessee's OL isn't much better than ours right?

Just wanted to swing by and say congrats on the win yesterday. Obviously your D took some stuff away and dominated our offense. Good luck the rest of the way.

The biggest improvement I see on the offense is the passing game. Receivers are getting open, coming back to the ball and actually catching hard to catch balls. Huge improvement over the past few years. The run game seems very basic and not much innovation. I think it will improve going forward.

Special teams is the biggest head scratcher. We look horrible in all phases at times. Florida football has always been predicated on great special teams. I don't even expect us to get a decent kick or punt return anymore. I also don't expect a made FG. Why even try kicking a FG if you can't make it.

I thought our offense was pretty vanilla which didn't help the line. I was calling the plays before we ran them from the couch. We either ran up the middle on first down and threw on second down or threw on first down and ran up the middle on second down. We have to stretch the field more on run plays and use the middle of field more in the passing game. IMO a little more creativity in the play calling would make the defenses have to cover the entire field and give our OL some relief. Go Gators!

r/s frosh qb on the road against SEC team. as the oc you know that your defense can win the game for you...why mess that up?

I agree with the premise that we should have been throwing a few deep passes to lossen up the defense...but Grier also was being pressured a lot and we wanted to keep him upright.

Dont care if we score 3 points if we win....this was a hard fought SEC win against a team determined to beat us. mission accomplished. the goal was to make third downs a little bit managable, credit UK for being stout and committed to stopping us from running and our OL is still gelling.

BTW Ole Miss has no real run game and we will be all over Kelly....defense can win the game...again.

Kentucky will have played with more heart and fury than any team we face this year. They also have a decent team, Kentucky will be upsetting more than one group this year.

I would not be surprised if they beat Mizzou this week.

I don't trust our offense enough (running game especially) to put up much points against UT. Hope I'm wrong.

Unfortunately, to gain rushing yards we are going to be forced to let Grier run more often than I like...remember he was leading rusher against UK.

But UT is gonna face the same problem trying to run against our defense.
