Game went like how I thought. Only ugly defensive struggle.

Grier did some good things in the first half, then some not so good things in the 2nd half.

But we know one thing: Our defense is legit.

Onto Tennessee.

O line is holding this team back. As expected.

I don't really worry about the offense -- yet. Everyone makes mistakes, and of course Kentucky and Tennessee are going to play us as hard as they possibly can. Our defense is stout, and will continue to improve but I think we're one year away from being a powerhouse again.

Our run offense still isn't feared, though, and it's causing some difficult throws. We really need to get the run game started or we're going to have some trouble. But for such a young team, sky's the limit.

Just how dominant the defense was:

UK had only 241 total yards.
Towles was 8/24 with 126 yards and 2 INTs.
UK only had 115 yards rushing on 41 carries (2.8 YPC )

The offense has a loooooong way to go. Special teams have been hit or miss.

But the defense is nasty.

Every game Florida plays now for the rest of the year outside of maybe the FAU game is going to be a wicked back alley brawl.

I think Nuss and McElwain need to let Grier take shots down the field early to loosen up defenses.

The play where Grier hit Calloway over the middle should've been called way earlier.

Offense- O Line needs a lot of work which IMO gave Grier happy feet and he pulled it down to soon several times. Good thing though Grier has some wheels. Anyone else notice Scarlett didn't get one carry. D Rob catch it and get up field stop dancing. Receivers made some great catches I think we needed to get the TE's involved more Goolsby has been great for us so far but was absent today. Powell did have on big drop. Running game was less impressive than I thought it would be. I am less sold on Grier now than I was before but being his first SEC game on the road in a hostile environment a win is really all I could hope for however the pick in the endzone almost made my head explode.

Defense/ST: What is there to say our D-Line is lights out and our secondary is elite. We did give up some long passes for first downs which almost had me flashback to last year. We are thin at LB which I think will catch up to us. We did miss some tackles but a better performance than last week. Hardin you cant take a Delay of game on that FG. Townsend punted well overall.

By the way to tell you how bad the media thinks Florida is I went around to about 8 College football sites and analysts had Kentucky to win about 70% of the time. Not to mention 75% of the ESPN gameday crew picking Kentucky.

And come to think of it -- Grier hits that one pretty regularly. He makes some damn good throws with tight coverage, and we should definitely be trying for that more often.

Grier's best pass is the TE seem over the middle.

I'm glad we won but our offense is exactly as anemic as last year. The occasional play they show hints of next year but in general that offense stinks like week old diapers.

On an unrelated note why can't we get a shitty ole Miss team to play?

Offense is anemic, but there are distinct signs of better execution and improved play from our TEs and WRs.

Work in progress, but I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the ride that this team takes us fans on

I don't understand how people don't see that our offense has progressed and noticeably. Sure, we're not lighting up the world, but with the horrible OL left behind by Muschamp it's amazing we're getting anything done.

Our offense looks like a unit for the first time in years, like an actual team. We're definitely going in the right direction.

Definitely.

Ivey making his debut tonight will really help the OL depth.

3-0 with 2 home games coming up next.

OL is not great but as bad as some think. The future is bright next year as we only lose Thurman and Halter. We have some talent that will really be better in 2016.

Grier had mostly poistive snaps and his running bailed us out a few times...it really deflated UKs defense when he ran for first downs and showed some moves. We better make sure Treon stays focused because Grier is going to get rocked if he keeps running.

TE McGee showed why he was an ace in the ACC.

Special teams did not perform well...at all. Powell brought out two ill advised kick offs, Townsend had one mediocre punt and then a horrible 30 yd punt when we were backed up inside our 25 yd line. We also had a penalty with a bad return but thank God defense made them punt. We also boomed punt into end zone when we were near mid field and needed to pin them deep...plus a delay of game and subsequent blocked FG. These kind of mistakes against LSU or Ole Miss could really cost us. The best thing was only 1 turnover to their 2.

The DL is just plain nasty and as I have been preaching, defense will win games for us...as they did tonight. Bullard is unblockable...a beast. MacCallister showed why Ive been high on him since last year. Next year we will still be a force on the DL....losing Bullard but have so much talent.

Secondary play was their usual top shelf....breaking up a ton of passes.

In the 3rd Q, we were on UK's side of the field 3 times and came up with nothing.

Our defense bailed us out, but we can't ask them to do that every week.

Offense is still growing and looks miles better than the last few years, but they will need to grow up fast in the next few weeks.

That guy is scary good. Just an absolute monster. Our entire line is so, so fast off the ball.
