Chip hates recruiting admittedly, so im not sure about him.

Lane - im sure he would recruit well but im sick of pro style offenses.

He would need a staff to recruit. Keep Seid for sure and make him recruiting cord as a promotion. Surround yourself with good recruiters.

I also forgot Leech. Holy shite...how much fun would that be. Just make sure he gets a good DC.

I love Coach Leach, he has to be in a certain place to be his best.
His quirkyness rubs some the wrong way. But if he were here id be in CFB nirvana .

I record his games at Wazzou due to playing so damn late.

Mike Leach and Paul Johnson are two HCs I follow.
I like watching triple option and Mike Leach's offenses.

They don’t. They didn’t get us anywhere bowl wise and I’m pretty sure it didnt help recruiting.

I would disagree that they don't mean anything. Ultimately, it's Saban's world and we're all living in it here in the SEC right now. The East is the next most meaningful thing you can do in the conference. I think the *way* that UF made it there likely didn't help anything. Getting abused by FSU in recent years hasn't helped either...

As to the recruiting, I'm not sure you can blame poor recruiting or a lack of any kind of bump on the East meaning nothing. Mac just hasn't had an ace recruiting staff. I think it is a little better now with Shannon on board, but he's had 3 meh classes which is going to be tough to overcome. As I'd mentioned on the other thread and TJ has brought up in one of his posts... the shift from 50%+ Blue Chip ratio to ~35% (don't have article handy? maybe 37?) Blue Chip is pretty significant.

IIRC, Straws was telling us how great Mac and the staff were at evaluating and how all of these 3* guys were every bit the player that the 4/5* guys they were missing on were. Ultimately, some percentage of those might be hits, but recruiting is a numbers game and that's not the uphill battle you want to fight.

UGA on track to potentially win the East and our recruiting class is picking up steam... it's certainly still possible we don't end up going, but seems probable at this point, and I'd say it looks to be helping. Part of that is staff, part of that is perception. Unfortunately, winning the East for UF didn't seem to improve perception.

Glad we finally agree. I love him. His weirdness is freaking awesome and he is no doubt absolutely brilliant as a coach. It would honestly feel like Spurriers brother on the sideline. Fun and gun and Leech's system have a lot of similarities, and his personality reminds me of Spurrier as well. I think everyone would be happy.

My issue with the triple is I don't like how the block, think its dangerous honestly. I do like watching it though. Also awesome to play in Ncaa games before they stopped making them.

I dont want PJ here, i just enjoy watching his teams. I like how his offense is in his head, no playsheet and he sends his plays in by subbing players

Oldschool :)

Agreed, Johnson has always been a guy I've liked. Just seems like the good Ole days type of coach...and he likes to beat Georgia as much as we do. Which is always a good laugh.

Since we are wasting all this time discussion replacing a coach that isn't going anywhere, why don't we fantasize about taking Spurrier to St. Augustine and bathing him in the Fountain of Youth and then the younger HBC can take over the program and immediately lead us to an undefeated season and a National Championship. Then he can lead us to 10 straight nattys and we can rinse him again and repeat. Man this will be great! Thoughts?

Or we can support our current coach and let him do his job for an appropriate amount of time before running him off.

I always support the HC.

I held out hope till the end with Muschamp that he woukd find the right OC.
I didnt want Mac but I understand what he walked in to and I feel he deserves a chance to make it right.

Look, he will be our Coach for sure thru 2018, as fans we should support him. At that time if we don't see improvement then we can push for a change. This program was in bad shape when he took over and unless a Coach is walking into a great situation it takes at least 3 years to turn it around. I am amazed at the success he has had, all things considered. This is his team now and we can't blame Muschump for anything after 3 years. If we don't see improvement next year, we will all be in agreement that a change is needed.

Next year will be no excuses. The team will be experienced and healthy -hopefully- on both sides of the ball.

How much improvements are you looking for next year? His offense hasn't improved much if at all and the defense took a step back this year hopefully only because of the lack of experience. I think their is a chance that he is fired at the end of the season. It's possible we finish the season 6-5 or worse which could make the 2018 class fall apart and then he will be lucky to keep his job. This program is going backwards unders Mac so far . We are loosing more talent then we are gaining and it appears that it's starting to show on the field or it's just a bad season because of the lack of experience.

The problem with the defense is lack of talent, coaching and depth.

Here's the offenses we have played or will play.

#84 UM
#110 UT
#103 UK
#127 VU
#78 LSU
#56 TAMU
#62 UGA
#107 SCAR
#23 Miz
#81 UAB
#113 FSU

That's why being ranked #55 is terrible.

The way he gets treated for his comments are a main reason I hardly post on this board. I agreed with a lot of what he said. Some people just can't handle negativity in any fashion, even when it ends up being right.

This is a sports message board phenomenon. Negative posters always get hell until they are proven right. Then they are worshiped. Seen it in every board I have ever been a part of.
