That was my exact thought when I read this earlier. It sounds like some players got their feelings hurt and they are trying to build this up and paint a picture of it being more than it was. Even throwing race into it to try and make sure something sticks.

Correct, this has nothing to do with race or politics. This is a case of some of the athletes not doing what they were supposed to do, or either getting homesick in my opinion. It happens to plenty of freshmen and it happened to me. Major college athletics is hard.
The alligator is nothing but a bunch of punk arse kids who have never participated in any serious team sports.

I know we don't like when stuff like this happens, but Newbauer was not a good guy and the school is much better off that he is not affiliated with it any longer. He should have been fired on merit for being an awful coach, certainly shouldn't have gotten an extension of all things.
