Those idiots better have not made his payout much bigger and just did this for the usual recruiting reasons.

We are screwed
.It is easier if you lower your expecations because their is no chance Napier ever wins the SEC or losses to Georgia or Texas by single digits.

Expect between 5-7 to 8-4 before bowls

There is a very good reason Napier gets boo's at home games..cause UF will never be near the top level with a guy with a record less then .200 perceny vs ranked teams...

Who makes this decision? You can't get any info on it. Supposedly Swamp 247 was first to report and they cite "multiple sources." This process is ridiculously private.

GaryGator probably knows the details. Not sure if he has posted here or on SECrant.

2030 is fine. Stricklin did hire Golden, an objectively fantastic hire who has worked out.

Now the stadium stuff has me worried, and I’m a bit worried about the direction of baseball and softball… so we’ll see.

But a 3 year extension was gonna happen sooner than later.

I don’t have a problem with Stricklin as long as Napier works out. If they fire him, he needs to go so a new AD can hire the new coach.

He needs a person to just hire coaches when needed.

Holy crap he is being replaced in 2030.

Details

Stricklin's new deal also includes a provision that would make him "special assistant to the athletic director" for five years beginning in 2030. It's a role similar to the one former Florida AD Jeremy Foley assumed following his retirement in 2016.

But the most interesting part of the new agreement was his semi-retirement role, which outgoing interim school president Kent Fuchs signed off on this summer. New Florida interim president Dr. Donald Landry was confirmed last month, and a search committee is expected to begin searching for a permanent leader early next year.

Probably wanting to semi-retire then. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Bama on the next football coach if Napier doesn't survive.
