Can we just forget the game and all get drunk together and laugh at our teams?

I didn't have enough alcohol in my home today to watch the abortion of a game that unfolded. If we don't improve 25 X on offense Im afraid Boom will be gone after the WLOCP and I like him...he has made our defense tougher than a 5 dollar steak...but he HAS to do something and DO IT NOW...we have bye week and time for Joker to step in and try to change things up...but remember he teams at UK that were bad on offense too...but he had a lot less to work with. Have to fix the OL first.
UGA should have fired their DC a long long time ago...congrats....he really pizzed off Franklin when Vandy played them a few yrs ago....they just got revenge.

Not watching. I'll be at the beach with my gf and praying for a breaking headline of coaches being fired.

Btw...I want you to win. Helps guarantee our coaches get fired and it may help save richt. Win win for a loss. It's like 2010 again, I have to cheer for us to lose so that we have heads roll.

Georgia is battered but still has an offense

Florida has issues but the take away from the Mizzou game

Florida 17
Mizzou 36

now subtract FG's from the score

Florida 14
Mizzou 21 (and 1 TD was late when the game was done)

I think it should actually be a good game and the winner is 1 game away from bowl eligibility. With all the player losses on both sides so far this is still impressive.

That's largely my gameplan and I'm going to the game.

It's what I did last year. So much Kraken before the game that I literally had no sense of feeling/despair when all the Bad Things happened. Gonna repeat that method.

This is the first year I would consider not entering the game and just staying in RV City.

I'm going. Last year at UF before taking a tenure-track job god knows where. I'm pretty disgusted with the season, but I want to take it all in one last time.

Joker does have a checkered pedigree, but I like what he's done with our WRs this year all things being equal. Barring some lights out hire, I don't think he's a horrible choice.

You finishing up your PhD? May I ask in what?

Don't know if you'd pursue a teaching position at UF...God knows with all the budget cuts they've been doing.

I'd tell you if we had a way to private message, but I am always leery about saying too much on the Rant, haha. That being said, our college has it better than a lot of them, but universities rarely hire their own new PhDs for tenure track positions. About the best you can expect is adjunct hell if you stay.

I also moved here from Austin. I love most everything about the university, but Gainesville is a little claustrophobic for me. Had I moved to Gainesville straight from my hometown, I would have loved it I'm sure, but after living in a fairly large city for a decade, I miss being somewhere a with a bit more to do. That being said, I've never regretted choosing Florida. It's been a fantastic experience.

I understand. Sometimes I get paranoid about what I have posted on here sometimes. I graduated from UF as an undergrad not too long ago so I've heard all the stories of eliminating the French PhD program and the issues with Computer Science. Hopefully they've been treating you better. Good to hear that they're better than most universities then in that regard.

I had the opposite experience. I went from Miami to Gainesville and loved it. Polar opposites within a few hundred miles of each other. School and friends kept me preoccupied. Now when I go back, I wonder what the hell I did in Gainesville for 4 years. As an undergrad it was the perfect environment. Probably wouldn't move back unless for further schooling. But wouldn't trade my time at UF for anything.

I don't know as much about the French thing, but trying to get rid of CS and actually getting rid of one of the Econ PhDs was not completely without merit. I'm not in CS or engineering, but I have some good friends who are. It is my understanding that the hardware vs. software sides of CS were never mapped out particularly well and ripe for streamlining. The university just did a horrible job of explaining itself during that debacle.

Thanks for clearing that up. It was a big fuss when that came out. Columnist juxtaposed the budget cuts with the athletic budget. 41 pages of comments on Forbes There are a couple of current and former CISE students that were upset at the admins too in the comments. And the UF admins responded to his column too so it looked bad.
