Do we have the quarterback of the future on the roster currently? I may be alone in this, but EJ scares me. I think he may have the most talent/highest ceiling of the group, but I have flashbacks of T. Harris every time he steps on the field.

I think EJ plays a considerable amount of time in two of the next four games, gets some meaningful snaps and some much needed game time experience, but I'm not sure if he is developed enough as a passer to be considered a starter for the Florida Gators. Maybe an entire offseason Mullen can polish him up

I'm really excited about J. Jones next year though. Dude has the size of a typical Mullen QB and I'm ready to see what he does given the opportunity.

And maybe, JUST MAYBE, Fields realizes he fricked up going to JAWJA and he transfers to Florida. I really am not looking forward to our defense having to face him one day in the future.

I think Fields is a pipe-dream until there's something more than a rumor about him.

Franks - Still needs a lot of work, bordering on he probably needs to drop the whole dream of being Tom Brady (or a quarterback in general). I just don't think if his vision isn't fixed by the end of this year, it will never be fixed.

Trask - More of a game manager, he's a great patch for next year because we can start having packages for Emory. In 2020, depending on if he makes strides he could transfer as a graduate or if he's good enough stay at Florida.

Emory - Not even close to ready and...

Jalon - Not as good as Jalon. I think Jalon is the future of Florida football. Emory hasn't even completed a single pass yet and has three fumbles on the year, he is still a giant work in progress.

People who think Emory is going to play significant time shouldn't get their hopes up -- this is one thing I trust Mullen on when he says 'We have every intention to limit Emory's playing time and redshirt him' when he also alluded to throwing in kids when they're not ready.

Three fumbles and zero completions on the year is not a recipe for playing time.

Mullen knows he has something in Emory. The biggest game of the year he put him in the game. Emory has a lot of potiential in him but we have to wait and see if he can get the mentality of a starting QB.

Jalon who knows. I don’t put faith in a kid who hasn’t even put on the uniform in a practice unless an insanely highly touted kid(like Tebow).

Franks clearly just can’t do it. Trask may be a Del Rio type but can’t see him being good enough to win an SEC title.

So yea I think our future is probably Emory or Jalon. Mullen can develop well. So let’s hope one of those two has the brain to go with the talent to win in Atlanta.

Why not Toney? He played QB at a pretty good high school in Mobile

Yeah but I doubt he’s taken snaps as QB other than a few “wildcat” plays.

We’d be better off with EJ if hes ready

"Emory - Not even close to ready and...

Jalon - Not as good as Jalon."

You can't be this dumb.

I don't know, I haven't seen anything remarkable from Emory yet, and I don't think he's got enough confidence. Maybe next year, and maybe this year if Mullen throws him in the fire (which he has repeatedly said he would not).

Jalon is literally top 100 players in the country running speed and is like 6'3'' -- Tebow's height.

And when I say top 100, I'm including DBs, WRs and RBs.

That kid is going places, and he will absolutely destroy some records if he plays early and often. One year in Savage's S&C and he will likely take the job over from Emory.

Gifted physically, tutorship from Mullen AND he fits the style of offense?

That's a dangerous combination.

What? Treon was 5'8, Emory is 6'3.

I'm not saying physically similar...I'm just saying confidence and the situations they have put him in so far. Obviously he isn't a polished passer or he would be airing it out...and Treon was a good qb in highschool because he was an athlete. That doesn't always work out when you get to the next level.

And I know EJ was a top 50 player, but from what I've seen so far, I feel like he may be a bandaid instead of the long term fix.

I hope he proves me wrong. I'm tired of not being consistent at that positions...we have wasted too much team talent over the last 10 years.

I have not seen anything yet from Emory that has impressed me so far. He was ranked very highly but doesn't seem to have that swagger necessary, at least not yet.

Very interested to see Jalon next year and of course, interested to see how Emory progresses in a year. I just think Emory is more of a Work In Progress than was originally thought.
