I appreciate the shot of putting my two cents in here. For any gator fans I’ve argued with in the past I hope you can see from my post history it’s never gone the name calling and insult route, I simply have my beliefs in where we are as a program. I’d love to be proven wrong and have us lift another championship trophy this season. That being said, I’m happy to be here amongst such admirable Gators.

Welcome aboard, please, let loose on all of your hot takes and let's see if we can't get over this off-season quickly.

Welcome to the Gator board. I hope you input is better than your name implies. Negagators are a problem with Gator fan support. We should all want success for our coaches, players and teams. Go Gators

Reel - I hope that was meant for him and not me?

I'm the only one on this board as old as you.

You merely adopted the old, Reel? He was molded by it...

I’ll change my username when Mullen wins us a ship. I’ll be the happiest crow eater in the world if Mullen proves me wrong and gets us back to where we belong.

Nah if he acts like an idiot just kick him out. It isn’t going to hurt us to hear some criticism of our football program, which has improved under Mullen, but is currently on a 3 game losing streak including 2 embarrassing losses. We also just got in trouble with the NCAA which is not good.

No problem with FDM on here.if we are going to have as bad a season as I think we are going to have this coming season in football its going to be pretty ugly in here anyway.

I hope I'm wrong but we may be looking at a 7-5 season

9-3. Schedule is very easy outside of Bama, LSU, and UGA. The East is still a joke, problem is no one sees the record for what it is and will just clap their hands at another “winning season.”

Yes FDM,

But we really haven't played well against Kentucky in Lexington or Mizzou in Colombia the last few trips and also have Bama & Tenner back to back before traveling to Lexington.

So we will see plus tenner will be running basically the same offense that we could not stop at Ole Miss last year so I have my doubts about this defense until they prove me wrong. And will not have the offensive weapons we had last year to overcome a bad defense.

Mullen's been killin' substandard competition pretty regularly and only dropped LSU last year in a freak game. Otherwise he's handled the cupcakes with his guys.

I don't see that changing for the foreseeable future, especially with an injection on defense.

Mullen has done well against teams with less talent. His record has been pumped from a very weak divisional and non conference schedule.

The reality is the East has been very weak for a long time. Kirby and Mullen have both benefitted greatly from that. It’s important to capitalize on almost all of our divisional opponents having 0 recent momentum and a good deal less talent than us in terms of recruiting.

I expect Mullen to go 9-3. I think if the o line takes the next step in the run blocking game similar to the step they took in pass protection from 2019-2020, we could see a legitimate downhill spread running attack that could be pretty dynamic if the starting QB can be durable enough running it. I don’t doubt Mullen’s play calling ability. I doubt his defense and in-game decision making.

If he gets a serious dual-threat, downhill running attack we will be very, very hard to beat. Clearly Mullen can teach passing Quarterbacks, but...well, let me rewind a little bit:

I think Trask was going to be a good passer no matter who his coach was. I think he was a natural passer, even from high school, there are just some guys that get it. I'm uncertain if Mullen had any influence on his arc, because he's always seemed very accurate, even in Spring Games and the like.

That being said: If we get a Mullen-style QB who can throw, it's pretty much a wrap...unless...

He is his own worst enemy many times. We lost three close games, and almost all of them could be placed on his shoulders with the Oklahoma game being, I guess, a bit of a Mulligan since we're running an air raid without our four best receivers + Copeland.

If he can get out of his own way, he might legitimately be an Elite coach.

It’s year 4 and I am expecting that out of Mullen. I don’t doubt his scheme or play calling. Not sure if I’m convinced we will be anything different than we have been in terms of being “very hard to beat.” The offense was pretty dynamic last year and we still went 8-4. At the end of the day I can get on board with the fact that Mullen utilizes talent effectively (unlike our main rivals in Athens who seem to have the exact opposite effect on their offensive players), what bothers me is that Toney and Pitts are first round picks (and I think Trask will be too) and we finished 8-4 last year. I have to see some Improvement from Mullen before I hop on the train. I’m not sold.

Whoa there buddy, that ain't happening. I got us at 8-4 and our O-Line will still suck. I am hoping the defense can improve a skosh.
