I just saw a report saying Jalon Jones has already entered the transfer portal. Does anybody have any info on this? That seems too quick

It’s supposedly off the field related. This news popped up a few weeks ago on another board I post on.

It's legit. There are no rumors as to why. Could be for a litany of reasons, so we'll just have to wait to see why. Probably waiting time to play, dude's waiting at a minimum three years.

Year 1 - Franks, Trask, EJ.
Year 2 - Franks, Trask, EJ.
Year 3 - EJ, JJ, AR15.

That's a rough wait. Even if Franks were to leave early, Trask for sure isn't and he's good enough to go dual-system with EJ as a Redshirt Senior in a Tebow role.

All around, he had terrible luck in when he arrived.

When AR15 comes he'll only be behind EJ.

From a Georgia fan: Little birds told me Jalon Jones has a real serious title ix issue that isn't public knowledge yet.

If those birds are spewing the truth then that's super surprising to me. JJ seemed like he wouldn't ever put himself in those kinds of situations.

Plus, he came off super excited to be here. The whole think stinks.

Forget about it, apparently the rumor has been completely squashed.

At first blush for an outsider maybe. I just can't believe that he wasn't aware of the pecking order prior to signing. It's pretty arrogant of him to think he's going to come in and take over the second or even starting roll right out of the gate. Also, I would think that that would come out during the season next Fall not after 3 months of EE practice. There has to be something much more serious than that.

No, he's definitely leaving (probably, he's only in the portal but people think it's a surefire thing), the Title IX bullshite is completely unsubstantiated for the moment.

Jones already accepted a possible change to WR, he just wasn't cut out for QB and would have needed a few years just to be able to take snaps. It isnt a great loss imo, we just to recruit more QBs

Franks will more than likely stay 2 more years to be a top first rounder. Look at Polite, 3rd round and that's a lot money left on the table. Emmitt Smith left as a junior and Dallas paid him peanuts for two yrs, he is lucky they tore up his contract after two yrs.

I will say this: After this year's draft, I think a lot of underclassmen will stay for their final year.

It's a projection, not a promise.

Yeah, this year's draft seemed like a huge wake up call for all of CFB. I wish there was something that allowed players the opportunity to come back if they don't get drafted or allowed to withdraw X weeks before the draft.

If you say you are going to leave early for the draft you leave.

Once you say your going coaches have to do other things with the roster for schollys and other stuff if you dont get drafted that's on the players that decide to go you cant expect coaches to leave the door open and welcome them back

Maybe what should happen is like the NBA and put your name into a let's just say portal and get feedback stay in classes at your university and you have until March 15 to take your name out of the portal and that way your back with the team for spring ball

My evaluation of Jalon Jones from watching him in practice in March:

Jalon Jones will never play a snap at QB for UF. He looks like a walkon throwing the ball. It’s not great. I trust Mullen to get everything out of him, but his throwing motion is very unnatural looking, very erratic accuracy, and his frame is skinny (albeit he is a kid and will certainly thicken up some). I don’t see him becoming anything more than Nick Fitzgerald throwing the ball. Was hoping I’d be more impressed with him.

Unfortunate situation and wish the best for him. He wasn’t the future here

Yea he was not impressive throwing at all. He could have moved over like Toney did successfully though

His future is at WR, period. He knows it. Time to move on.

Its not easy being an all star in high school and then realize that you aint all that. I can appreciate backups staying the course and waiting....not easy. Emory has a chance to be successful, he is now a r/s frosh and can really improve a lot.

Hard to find excellent QBs that are highly recruited, a lot of them turn out to be busts or wont wait their turn. You sometimes have to really search hard for the right fit.

Wait a minute....wasn't Jalon supposed to make Franks transfer? I thought a poster on this board something like that? Franks has already transferred 3 times now

I'm pretty sure that was Straws. He has been really big on Jalon since we recruited him. Like starter day one big.

2008 of course I knew who the poster was, he had Franks transferring so many times. He is also a "retarded drowned puppy" words that will come back to haunt him or the statement that Franks will never amount to anything he might be ok for the XFL
