So the 2 guys that should've been fired 2 years ago?

Exactly. Too late. Mullen gotta go too.

Probably means Mullen gets 2022 if we at least go 6-6 though an FSU loss would be pushing his luck. Sucks that him being on a hot seat will limit the pool for a new DC.

Whoever he hires better be an ace recruiter.

the boosters are just as dumb as mullen is if they gave him ultimatum to fire TG and JH and only giving Mullen a year to turn it around. this is going to be a 2+ year situation at best. you can't put together a championship defense together in less than a year with a new DC and half a recruiting class. it's just not possible. you need the 2023 class to be really strong and 2 years to develop to even be able to compete.
it's funny some think this is going to be the end all solution.

Unless most just don't pan out we have all kind of blue chip defensive players on the roster. In 2020 I think Mullen even got quite few D linemen. Just need to be coached up and the same with Hopper and the LBs we have for next season.

I would rather err to the side of caution rather than like the Al Davis of college athletics. I understand people don't want to be patient, but Mullen turned the program around pretty quickly from where we were and this is his first bad year.
Do I think he is going to turn it around, probably not, but his first 3 years bought him 1 bad one.
Now I reserve the right to change my mind in the next 3 weeks.

This reminds me of 2014 when Kurt Roper came in as OC after Muschamp stuck with Brent Pease for far too long.

I look at it like this at least it's a start and at least a year too late but it's the 2 obvious choices.
They both needed to be let go the defense and o line have regressed through the season the defense can't stop the sisters foe the ohms of the poor from gashing them for 7 yards a carry.
The O line can't block finch and straws from getting to the QB. so it was well past time and at least it's something different and we know changes are coming.
Will the team play better we will have to wait till they go mizzou not that Mizzou is any good but mercer or Samford of who ever they play this week should be a game for the interims to get there feet wet.

is this move enough for you?
FSU is a tossup game, y'all SHOULD be able to win easily just on talent; but same can be said of USCe & this will be the most important game of the season for the 'Noles
outside of getting blown out; I do not see the FSU game as "critical" for CDM
so; assuming Dan has bought at least one year no matter what (which is what it looks like) - what do YOU (as one of the more reasonable Gators) need to see next year? and what do y0u think Gator Nation has to see to feel good about Dan for 2023??
would 8-4 and looking competitive in all 4 losses do it for most?

I can't imagine 4 losses being acceptable next year. If that happens we need to pull the plug like UGA did on Richt and LSU did on Coach O.
We get UK, LSU, and USCe at home. All should be wins.
Could see both UGA and TAMU being losses but both should be competitive games. TAMU loses a lot this year if some of their juniors declare early.
4 losses means we have lost to UGA, TAMU, UT away, plus one more game likely at home against a less talented team (UK) or a team with a first/second year coach (LSU/USCe).
On paper we are still in that second tier of SEC talent - behind Bama and UGA but with LSU, TAMU, and Auburn. That means if Mullen is coaching and developing talent then we should be losing 1 or 2, not 4 plus.
One caveat - if he starts AR15 next year and we lose some close games because of boneheaded young QB play (he still has very limited snaps) then he gets a pass with 3-5 losses. Don't forget we lost 4 games the year Tebow won the Heisman.

He cant keep losing to Georgia and LSU. 9-3 with those 2 losses and I would say he should be gone. 1-4 against those 2 teams is unacceptable imo.
