The Florida Atlantic Owls are expected to be an explosive offensive team with a weak defense, projected to finish in the middle of the pack in their conference.
Offense
Led by second-year head coach Zach Kittley.
Ranked 1st nationally in pass offense last season (340.2 yards per game).
Returns key starters including quarterback Caden Veltkamp and wide receiver Easton Messer.
Has high returning player production and an experienced roster.
Defense
Struggled heavily last year, giving up 36.3 points per game.
Ranks high in defensive retention for the American Athletic Conference, which should help continuity.
Added transfer portal pieces like edge rusher Blake Burus to try and fix a poor pass rush and run defense.
Outlook
Picked to finish 8th out of 14 teams in the American Athletic Conference pre-season poll.

Pros of having a pro-athletic president. We can finally go back to being a louder crowd with it. Maybe for the next couple of hours, it'll put ppl's phones in their pocket rather than having it in their hand all the time.

I will be happy if the starters don't allow more than 1 TD - would be nice if they hold them to zero TDs however. Hard to see FAU stopping our offense much. Would like to see the tackles tested but not sure if FAU has any decent pass rushers.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Tom Petty and his won't back down song is just pathetic underdog mentality. But they do it for the kids so they can post on their snap and gram and tik toks. They won't get rid of it so easily.

Man social media was such a cancer to people's minds during covid and it has permanently damaged a lot of ppl. To see this still be an issue with some is just pathetic. You're literally at a football game to do silly chants and have some fun.
