I thought this team had potential going into SEC play but not sure they can close out 9-5 with 2 nice wins in only 4 chances left for them. I think we are more likely not to get in right now.

This is a 5 seed talent wise this coach just sucks but he can land decent transfer portal talent

I hate that they blow leads. But they keep fighting.
This team needs Kugel to play well to be a very good team. He hasn't had a good year so far. But they dug out the win and at this time of the year you have to win. They really need that big win. They have a tough 5 game stretch coming if they can get through that 4 - 1 then they will be good. They can not lose to Kentucky and Auburn they need to win one of those games. Hopefully both But for sure 1.
Samuel has not been playing well either. He needs to step up as well.

Despite blowing the lead, they held on. Could've folded when it went to OT.
Another positive, is they hit the FTS in OT to put it away.
I know this team is frustrating but I still think Golden is showing enough to give him some time to see if he can develop. If he can't in, say, 2 years we're seeing the same shite, then time to move on.
But I like some of the things he's done despite the warts. An improvement of White, even if that's not the highest bar (and in truth, as much as I couldn't stand watching his teams, White isn't as horrible as we like to say. Mediocre to subpar, yes. But look at Ohio State and Holtmann, that's terrible!).

Golden recruits very well in the portal and his offensive schemes sets have rhythm and flow to them. Finally have size underneath that can rebound with some depth. All that’s left is for Todd to figure out defensive nuisances and full court press traps. It took Billy a while To figure that out as well. This team reminds me of those early 00s Matt Bonner/Walsh teams. High scoring could run with anyone but had some defensive lapses. Then Donovan went to installing full court press traps in the off-seasons but I suppose it takes some clout to get buy in

That was ugly. Happy with the win but we can’t blow 20 point leads like that. And the last play we got very lucky that we aren’t in OT.

Golden is young and learning so there will be ups and downs. Think he deserves some time as he runs a good offense and nows how to use the portal
