Did people really say we were better off with Murphy?

After the first half of vanderbilt it makes me think how many fellow gator fans were happy Driskel was hurt and we made the QB change. How about now??

I still like him. He can only do so much with shitty OL performance.

I was never happy Driskel was hurt, but I can't be too hard on Murphy. I don't think he quite has the arm for the job, but Joe Montana would struggle behind this line.

Murphy has been awful, but I can't imagine us doing much better with Driskel. Maybe one, two MAX more wins. He imploded against Miami, and I see no reason he wouldn't have done that again. With our shitty run game, we would have had to lean on him more and more.

2 more wins gets us bowl eligible at least.

I don't really think you can blame either Driskel or Murphy for our ineptitude on offense.

We have a shitty O-Line. We have shitty play-calling. We incessantly try to force our QBs into doing things they're simply not capable of. Trying to force Driskel into being a pocket passer. Making Murphy throw deep balls.

I think Driskel is way more talented than Murphy, and if Grier isn't ready, Driskel should definitely start. Hopefully we'll have a coach who is capable of maximizing his potential. I still haven't given up on Driskel. His tremendous physical tools haven't gone anywhere.

Murphy is inaccurate (often throws behind receivers and low) and no little arm strength. If you like those qualities, he's a great QB.

JD was our best hope. I do think the coaches asked JD to not run so much to limit chances at getting injured and look what happened. He was injured on a play where he should have tucked and ran.

He's gotten little to no snaps preseason except when Driskel had appendicitis. He's not good by any stretch (under and overthrowing players) but I'm not really that upset with him.

Maybe this equalizes with the derpalicious Miami game we saw from Driskel?

I feel bad for both cause they might have been closer to reaching their full potential with a decent O-line and better coaching.

Sorry...OL isn't making him throw behind wrs or at their feet and make wrong decisions on who to throw to...we had many wide open wrs today...but he is all we got I guess. A lot of the pressures and sacks were not really fault of OL...Murphy failed to have inner clock working several times and he also rolled right into the teeth of the defense.

Skyler Morninhwig must be still at high school level? This is his second year at UF.

I appreciate Murphy and his hardwork..he is a class guy and you never see him look defeated on the sideline....but he just lacks a lot of talent and expeience at this point. After a summer/spring of practice he might be a lot better and learn to read defenses with a keener eye.

Neither Driskel or Murphy are ever going to do anything meaningful at UF. Both are below average QB's. The OL doesn't make it any easier on either of them.

The hope with Driskel is that our coaching staff is inept on offense and that he might develop under a better coaching staff.

He has talent. He's just not a system fit. But who cares about our "system" right now? The system is what needs to go.

Line or no line the picks that Murphy threw were a direct result of his inaccuracy. Even his one TD pass was thrown terribly and it was almost picked as well. Like all of you is Staver and Morninhwig that bad on the bench that we cant see some reps from them.

I disagree about Driskel...he has the ability to take us to SECCG and win. if healthy. Next year could see that happen if we can keep folks upright. We are going to be loaded next year on both sides of the ball and just need a few missing pieces.

We must recruit five OL and one OL from JUCO ranks. The defense needs one JUCO DL at least. I expect three of Cox, Bostwick, Ivie, Brantley & Sheritt to be in our rotation and maybe all five. The young LBs are a big need to come through and start playing snaps.
