I have avoided most message boards for the last 36hrs or so, but wanted to voice my opinion on a few things.

McElwain is in an interesting position as Florida's HC. If he goes into next year without making any staff changes, he will be at risk of signing his own pink slip if he doesn't have a QB that plays at a high level next year. I say that because the defense does likely take a slight step back and the schedule gets more difficult. This is the 2nd straight year that UF looks awful at the end of the year.

McElwain needs to either get rid of Nuss, or start calling the plays. This bullshite we trot out there each week on offense is an unwatchable product. McElwain is an offensive minded HC and UF sucks at offense. From personnel decisions to non scripted play calling. Also, it's complete bullshite that the best players come in after players get hurt. The offense is lethargic as hell, the plays take for fricking ever to come in, we play RBs that quit on the team over guys that went off the week before. McElwain needs to take some accountability for this piece of shite product of an offense, despite the backup QBs, etc.

This team coming out flat, playing uninspired, and the poor personnel handling is on the HC. I feel bad for the defense because they play their arse' off every game for the offense to come out and look disinterested. This is 2 straight years in the making and something has to give. Nuss, Nord, and Summers all need to be gone. We are about to find out what is more important to McElwain; his interest in taking Florida to the next level or keeping his buddies around.

I agree with everything you just said, except I'd give him one more season to show what he can do with a QB he has recruited and developed before he breaks up the band.

I also would add recruiting concerns as well.

I don't really get that upset in recruiting. I'm a pretty big believer there isn't much difference in the number 100 kid in the country and 500. The kids that are college ready are usually in the top 20, that's where you see a big difference.

I completely agree on those 3, although Summers really didnt have much to work with last year.

Wonder how this goes over with the young guns?

Well you avoided message boards for the past 36 hrs. But what about the response after we beat LSU when no one thought we would? It was real quiet here then...nothing much to bitch about.

Of course lose a game and the same kneejerk reactions are heard. I am not fond of losing ...trust me and I can see the mess on offense...but folks will play the blame game and its too many RBs, play a true frosh QB...etc etc Did ANYONE watch the AA game with Eason and Franks playing as sr high school QBs? Awful stuff and of course more recently the spring game which was forgettable also.

The coaches get paid to make decisions and if they feel like inserting a true frosh early was suicide then who the hell are we to question that????? We want to ruin a kids confidence? I dont. Some of the posters dont give a shite about an 18-19 yr old kid.

Lets face the facts as we know them...the offense was bad before Mac came along...it didnt start with him and honestly it started with Meyer in 2010 and a little bit even with Tebow in 2009...fans were upset that we didnt crush teams enough...really??? Sad that a 12-0 regular season record seemed like a 8-4 season to some. Look at the mirror and some of are guilty of probably bitching back then.

We all know SEC fans are fricking impossible sometimes and theres no placating them. I know Im older than most here and what was customary in the 1960s is not now...but I really think it would be good to have some of you time travel back to earlier days of coaches being southern gentlemen and the feeling of excitement of being at a game.

Now its $$$$$ and TV has been steering the ship for a long time...but I love to see all the games on TV and its a price we pay. It starts in the damn summer with polls and Heisman watches etc etc. Really? Anything to sell soap. I know I never want to hear Joe Tessitore call any games, that voice damn.

Anyway we arent going to fire anyone now and if Nuss is retained...and we go 11-1 who's going to bitch? Im sure some will anyway. If we go 7-5 I wont be happy, but if Mac goes 9-3 then he aint going anywhere, even though we wont be thrilled...its not a reason to fire someone...yet. If it doesnt improve in 2018? Then thats another story....if he went 8-4....then improvement isnt being made.

I'm not as much talking about results as I am the way the team looks. More specifically, the offense. They don't have fire, look disorganized, no leadership, plays take for ever to come in, etc. The personnel stuff is in addition to the above. That side of the ball is too much of a shitshow for our HC to be "offensive minded".

Recent rumor Skipper may be a candidate for a position at Fresno State. One of our best recruiters to this point.

So, is this a way to sustain the excuses related to having a new QB?

L O freaking L. If this is true, then we deserve every arse whooping and shitty recruiting class we get. I believe Kirby got it right making Eason earn his lumps early on. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the top dogs in the east next year. He's a very good QB with a bright future. If our freshmen can't take the stress and pressure of playing in the SEC during their true freshman year, then get that pussy off our team.

Why is it bad to pursue Stidham? You want all the good QBs on your roster you can get.

We've had true Freshmen play at key positions before that had little to some growing pains. Why not let a true Freshmen play QB? We have a defense that can hold strong if a young QB makes a mistake. That's the thing I'm baffled by the most. We have one of the best crutches for a young guy under center.

I agree with most of what DMB said. Nord and Nuss need to go. One slight difference is that I think we need to keep Summers, last year was the year to drop him for not recruiting well. The O line is young and looks to be improving as the year has gone on.

A lot of UF fans seem to want to start a fricking true freshman QB while UF still has a chance to win the SEC. Sends a message that the coach is giving up on the season. That is how 4-8 happens.

You play to win the fricking game. You don't try to win a future game.

The most important game is the one you are playing next. Focus on the now and the future will work itself out. That should be the mindset of the coach and the team. That is why Bama is dominating.

If McElwain throws this shite on the field next year, he is absolutely on the hot seat in 2017.

Your post in the Prediction thread

Eh. I think we hiccup to Miz or Arkansas and drop FSU and LSU. 9-3. LDR, the WR/RBs, and OL are complete mysteries. We'll need the defense to hold the line until until the offense can figure itself out.

UF is 8-3 with losses to Tenn, Arky, and FSU. Yet you are flipping out.

frick hell I should be flipping out, I thought this.

Gator fans are melting en masse because of what UF looks like on the field.

Their record is in line with what many of us predicted at the beginning of the year, but no one thought they would look this fricking bad on offense.

Also people thought recruiting would be better this year.

So here we are, at the end of year two, with a worse offense than Muschamp has at USCe, and shitty recruiting.

Not a good time.

I get the complaining about the offense. I disagree that our offense is worse than Muschamp's but that does not matter because they are both dogshit.

IMO recruiting is going pretty good. I judge recruiting on how recruits become productive on the field. Not by some star system made up by people who have a shitty arse jobs being a glorified clickbait writer and website moderator.

There are a lot of Mac's recruits that have stepped up and played well as freshman and sophomores. There has been a lot of the injuries on the defense and those were plugged up by Mac recruits who helped UF beat LSU. The only bright spots on the UF offense are Mac recruits.

Still worried about DT and QB recruiting because of lack of numbers and on the field production respectively.
