School colors are orange and blue. Orange, Orange, Orange -
Blue, Blue, Blue. Black???

Give me a brake. Traditions mean nothing anymore.

I like the different uniforms. Black with orange and blue? Why not for one game a year

I’m a big tradition guy myself. I think brand recognition is important too. I also get that the kids these days love to switch things up, but when it comes to uniforms, less is more IMO.

I guess I’d be okay with compromising on a black jersey, but I wouldn’t want black pants and it would really only make sense to do it on Halloween weekend or something.

The black baseball and basketball jerseys look really good, but those are a bit easier to work in than a football jersey/helmet.

If you do the black jerseys you do it against a OOC opponent. You do it against South Florida or Eastern Washington depending in which one of those 2 games will be at night. You don't wear them in a early afternoon game in September

I think we just need to do it and get it over with it at this point. When/if it bombs then we'll move further away from changing it up again in the future and stay true to the Orange and Blue.

Go Gators.

It's better than those alligator skin unis from a couple years ago.

Besides, it's not like we don't have other sports already wearing black unis.

I started hearing it after the Spring Game, so I'm assuming sometime in the post-game presser or in some interview post game?

I am not a fan of black unis personally (seems like some BS Georgia and Tenn does), but wouldn't hate it either if they do it during the right game.

All I care about is getting the best players, coaching them up right, and winning national titles. Kicking Georgia and FSU's arse, and making fun of Miami.

To me it's about tradition and branding. I say we wear black uniforms when traditional powers like Bama, Penn State, USC, ND, Michigan wear them. Never!

I'm not crazy about the idea personally but wouldn't mind it as much as those horrid Croc skin unis or when the fans rushed the court after beating an overrated AU b-ball team under Mike White a few months back.

Napier said he would auction off the black uniforms after the game and the money would go to military families that need the money. Not only would dit be a nice different look but then it would help those in need. Win win

Auction the orange and blue uniforms, by adding a special patch or something and donate the money.
Great cause and I support the idea, but not black uniforms.

Again, to me, it's about tradition. Be proud of who and what you are.

“We will do it in the 2023 season,” he said. “This will be become a little bit of a tradition. We’ll do it one time a year. It will be the next to last home game and it will always be around Veterans Day, that part of the year, for military appreciation.”

quote:

His players wanted to wear black, so he obliged and decided to use it as a teaching tool. He built his team’s theme of the week around Veterans Day and brought in somebody from a different branch of military to talk to the players after each practice.
