Yeah if we hadn't shot ourselves in the foot in that 4th inning, I think we had a chance here. We had a good showing overall and the team seems to be improving, but we didn't hit so great. Played much smarter baseball though.

I am hopeful.

From FlordiaGators.com:
"GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida faces Central Michigan on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in the team's opening game of the 2022 NCAA Gainesville Regional.

Friday night marks the first time Florida (39-22, 15-15 SEC) has gone head-to-head with Central Michigan (42-17, 30-7 MAC) since hosting the Chippewas in a three-game series from March 2-4, 2001. The Orange & Blue is 7-0 all-time against Central Michigan, including a 6-0 mark at home.

The Gators have scored 11-plus runs in three-straight games in the series. This will be the first time Head Coach Kevin O'Sullivan has coached against the Chippewas."

Central Michigan RHP Andrew Taylor (8-3, 2.81 ERA)
Florida RHP Brandon Sproat (8-4, 3.59 ERA)

Should be a good game, gotta start strong with a win this evening. This is going to be a tough regional, may get the chance to get some revenge on Liberty for our only non-conference series loss of the year.

Gators hopefully figuring it out. Sproat definitely didn’t have his best game hit wise but managed to pitch out of several tough spots. Slater did the same after loading the bases with a couple of hit batters and a hit thus far. Gotta close these suckers out, apparently they like the come backs, gott shite that shite down.

Survive and advance…..
Gonna be pretty tough to win 2 against Oklahoma, gonna have to get a lot of production out of the bullpen and the bats are going to have to be real hot. We got a shot, but it’s a long shot. Go Gators!

Freaking Finnvold killed it! Dude doesn’t blow it by anyone but he’s got the stuff for sure. Dude was awesome on the mound.
Pitched almost 120 pitches, saved most of the pen for tomorrow, meanwhile Oklahoma went through 5 pitchers. Should be a good match up tomorrow.

Definitely an A game performance. You never know how someone will handle the situation. You expect the starter to make it more than 11 pitches that’s for sure.

Yeah, 1 hit batter and 2 walks in 11 pitches is about as bad a start as you can have.
Neely with a pretty strong start today, hoping we can hold on..........

Now after the lightning delay I'm hoping whoever comes in to finish can finish strong. 1 run lead in top 7th with 2 outs and a lightning delay

This shite definitely favors the Sooners, Neely was in a groove and would've gone 8+ for sure, but to have any shot in Omaha you gotta have a decent bullpen so this will some much needed pressure on ours.

Well, team was only going as far as the bullpen would take it. Looks like tonight is the end in the road.

With the pitching problems I never expected this team to make a regional final, but then they do and blow it. Hopefully Sully finds some bullpen help by next season.
Go Gators!

Well…tough season. I will say they did a little better than I thought they’d do after Barco’s injury. I didn’t see how we would even make a regional, much less host one.

This team was young, but had so many chances to make things happen and just couldn’t do it. Sometimes teams just aren’t able to come through enough in the clutch, and that was us all year.

Next year this team won’t have the excuse of being young. It’s time for Sully to get us back to the Supers at a minimum, and Omaha should be the expectation. We have too many good players not to regularly be in the hunt.

Sully is already making moves, so we’ll see how they pan out.

I think if the last game didn't get delayed due to weather we win it. The delay gave them the break they needed and shut Neely down.
Next year I think Omaha is the expectation for sure. We'll see what we can pull from the portal and what we lose to transfers and the draft but we should be real solid next year.

We have to wait and see who’s around to start next year definitely going to lose a lot in the pitching department.

In some cases, that is a good thing. As a whole, pitching especially out of the bullpen was not up to Gator standard.
