Can't wait...
I think we have a VERY underrated team this year. Good mix of veteran leaders with young talent coming in.
I'm thinking the projected starting lineup will be:
PG - Nembhard
SG - Allen
SG/SF - Hudson
PF - Stone
C - Hayes
Bench:
PG - Okaru
SG - Locke
SG/SF - Fava
SF - Johnson
SG/SF - Ballard
PF - Stokes
PF - Bassett
C - Gak
I think that's everyone. We're going to have an EXTREMELY athletic team that can play multiple styles, has tons of shooting, and has a MUCH more interior depth than last year.
I'm very shocked UF isn't in the top 25 preseason.
I project Allen to have an excellent bounce back senior season this year.
Nembhard will be key. By all accounts, he could be one and done good, and I see him starting from Day One.
This team is gonna shock a ton of people in a loaded SEC this year.

I'd still like to see more depth at center. We've had terrible luck with injuries at that position the last few years and Gak just doesn't seem to be the power center we need in order to open up the outside game. He seems to have stone hands at times.

I'm very surprised they aren't being hyped more.
This will be a very good team.

I'm a bit more worried about PG. Losing a 4-year-contributor like Chiozza is a tough blow, even if Nembhard is really talented (I highly, highly doubt he's a one-and-done like some seem to expect, but I'm excited for him). People are also writing in Okaru for big minutes at PG but he played exclusively off the ball and didn't show many PG skills, even if he was a way more polished scorer than we expected.
I think Allen might handle more primary ball-handling duties than some expect. He's really going to have to be "the guy" on the perimeter. As much as I love Hudson, he's not really a creator. If Allen can bounce back and create offensive looks that offensive core of Allen, Hudson, and Stone could be really good.

quote:Conference is deep again. Kentucky, Tennessee, and Auburn will get more hype in the pre-season than UF, and that's fair, so I wouldn't be too offended. Everyone is predicting a tournament team.

Kentucky should be the best team this year.
Auburn is a wait and see for me. Not like they are gonna sneak up on everyone.
Tennessee talent wise is not that much better than UF, but they are returning pretty mcuh everyone from last year's team.
I'd say UF is probably 3rd or 4th right now. I do think UF is slightly better than both LSU and Mississippi State.

How far this team goes depends upon Hudson and Allen's shooting

Not only excited about this year, but also what White and his staff are doing on the recruiting trail. We are well positioned to continue to be a force on the national scene.
