White called this our best offensive performance this year.
He is so fricking clueless. How anyone can defend him right now is beyond me. Just not a great coach. Yes we give him the rest of the year, hopefully it changes..but right now this guy just doesn't get it. We do not have enough shooters to rely on the three..yet he refuses to accept it. Unless the offense changes majorly, this team is going to be out quickly in the tourney. fricking guy is goddamn incompetent. Jesus.

This is a very young team that will need to develop, by the end of season they should be much improved and will be a threat, just probably not this year.
Again, it's easy to bash coaches, but the plays he is calling are giving the opportunity for shots to be made. The coach can't go out and shoot the shot. The players have to make the shots. Ever heard, "You can lead a horse to water..........?"

It is easy to bash the coach, which most Gator fans are now for a reason. Consistent issues. His offense does not work with this team. The reliance on the three works when you have the shooters. This team does not have them. We have athletes...and the offense has to center around that. Lewis and Johnson need to be attacking the basket. Blackshear should not be outside the arc for half of our offensive possessions.
This is year five.
The same problems should not be happening. He can of course save this season very easily, but will he finally change things to do so? Anyone want to argue his offense has worked for 3 years now? It is the basketball version of Muschamp right now. Defense and recruiting do well, offense is not coached well nor schemed well.
There is a reason Muschamp was let go...obviously White isn't going to be fired right now nor should he be...but he needs to right the ship and finally concede that his offense simply isn't effective.
If he can figure that side of the ball out...we have a stud coach. Problem is..it just seems to believe it's all on the shots not falling, and continues to believe that each year. It's not the shots though. It's the system doesn't create good shots for the personal.

A lot better offense this game. Really fun to watch.
We moved without the ball more, attacked the basket more, and had better passing. Loved it. Hopefully this was sign of progression and not just the opponent. Will see next game but this game was the best offensive game all season by far.

I'll say it again -- Glover = Taurean Green.

That crazy falling lay up he hit was amazing. He seemed confident today took a couple shots even contested. I like seeing that. These guys need to trust they can make shots like they did tonight. Seems after the first ten minutes they played confident. Maybe it was lack of concern of Providence making a FG lol, but still.

Loved seeing them play much better basketball.

Same. It's amazing that it changes the mood for the next game. I turned on Providence with a "well here we go let's see". Now I'm excited for the next game to see if it continues. I'll still watch every game..but it's much easier on my heart when we play well

I like how we play with Glover in the game. Nembhard is better but he slows down the pace.

I wonder if we will ever try him at the 2 guard. He can score, he can pass very well. But yea, we just need the pace with him. We very rarely held the ball for long periods last game, which lead to a lot less panicked, last second shots we have seen a lot so far.

Big game vs Utah State today as they are a good team with plenty of height and a great scorer, Sam Merrill who was the Mountain West POTY last season. They have three 7 footers, 2 guys at 6-10 and some guards with some height as well at 6-8, 6-6 and the scorer is 6-5. They also have good balance as 4 players avg double digits and 7 players avg over 7 points a game. With all that height it is a 6-7 forward who does most of the work on the glass in Justin Bean who is a top 5 rebounder in the NATION at 11.6 per game.
Florida vs Utah State Pre-game breakdown
We are going to have our hands full today.

Yeah, big, must-win (or as close to a must-win as you can get in December) game today. Would be a nice Q2 win.

Offensive rebounds may kill us today. Gotta box out significantly better today.

After a win against a terrible Providence team, the Gators return to MW ball. Miss their first 15 shots, gain a 6 point lead in the 2nd half, and run out of gas at the end due to no substitution of KB and KJ.

Just think back. How many games just this year has he been outcoached?
I mean my goodness. It feels so much like Muschamp's teams its insane. Even the second year high point.

I will still support the program, but if this team misses out on the NCAA tournament this year or doesn’t at least make the 2nd weekend, White has to go.
I’m at that point. Still a long ways to go, so I’m holding out hope that this team turns around.
But I swear this team is the dumbest team in basketball on offense that I’ve ever watched.

I watch every game. I know I've been the most vocal on my thoughts he isnt the guy, but my support for the team itself will never change.
I really, really was hoping I was proven wrong this year, but it is the exact same issues from last year. Returning players regressing, low offensive IQ, and no confidence in the players on that side of the ball. It's just painful to watch such talent look so average.

Welp, here we go into conference play. Let's see what we are made of.

Bama has been way better lately and isn't an easy matchup. They sorely lack physicality down low but they'll try to get out in transition and shoot as many threes as possible per game. If we control tempo and get the ball to Blackshear and Keyontae we'll win going away

Maybe this type of game helps us speed up more
