To further point out great recruiters who didn't quite get the job done...look at Ron Zook, he was a master recruiter and helped Spurrier bring in a lot of talent....and when HC did the same. His senior class is why Urban won the BCS in 2006 and make no mistake about it. Zook was let go when his awesome class...that included the Gatorade national player of the year were basically sophs.
He was a good coach and proved that at Illinois taking them to the Rose Bowl...but he was a first time HC at UF and as we know...it can be rough sledding.

You are hating on Kirby? Isn’t he like 24-3 in the last 2 years?
The East has been dogshit. If Georgia was in the West they would be the third best team on average. In the West.
Even this year with the East doing better than the West, LSU destroyed him.
Was he just unlucky? What happened? Why did the Shrimp Boat Captain double his score?
Didn't Alabama play there at night and blank them? Didn't that exact same thing happen to UGA last year vs. Auburn?
What do you guys think the final score vs. Alabama will be this year?

Any recruits we plan on snagging gonna be in Tallahassee Saturday?

I don't have a complete list, I know Nick Cross is going to be there but I don't think our staff is looking at him completely. I can imagine that we've low-key invited some people to come watch, other FSU targets (Quashon FUller has been hinting at Flipping, so has Hunter), it'd be interesting to see some of them come to the game on unofficial visits.

Recruits would be on their own dime unless the home school pays for the tix...but that's all they get, travel and food isn't included except on officials. Lets just hope the girls school invites recruits to the game who are on our radar. They would be on the wrong sideline...but they could watch the garnet bunch get their shite pushed in.

I don’t think it’s fair to use Alabama as a bar to measure anyone.
That being said, 24-3 in the sec is good anytime.
I’m not saying he’s the next saban. FAr from it. Just seemed like a weird coach to criticize given his recent record.

And saying he hasn’t gotten the job done is wrong. The dude has an SEC Championship on the resume, regardless of the circumstance, winning the SEC is an accomplishment.

Ok Dan, get on the phone, time to pillage recruits

Lots of rumors in the air about a commit. This always happens after a W, but would definitely help get this train rolling.

Nay'Quan Wright - 4-star RB commits to the good guys. :chomp:

Hopefully this is the start of a surge

When you're averaging top 5 classes over the past few years, it's certainly an adequate bar.
That you don't answer is just sort of proving my point, though. We know he's not an elite coach -- Urban, Saban, Dabo. Last year the SEC East was the worst P5 conference in the entire year, he got a second shot at Auburn (with a banged up Kerryon) and got to play the easiest team in the first round (Oklahoma) and had that team run all up and down the field on them.

He's 18 - 6 in the SEC.
McElwain was 16 - 6 before he was fired.
All's I'm saying is that they've flopped, a lot. And there's no other excuse outside of coaching because they certainly aren't lacking talent or experience. Kirby's losses were both blowouts, one to LSU and another to Auburn.
Now, since he has the talent and experience, multiple top 5 recruiting classes (second best of all time last year), I want to know:
What's the final score between Alabama and Georgia?

Someone on Twitter told me that there are a lot of silent commitments who are making their decision today. Take it with a grain of salt, because I've heard that before.

FSU fans are already telling Fuller to go to UF
Guess he posted something they didnt like during the game or after

He said Kodak was his favorite rapper. I'll take him and Fowler, though, two more four star DL to move in because we need some bodies there bad.

Again any argument with saban and Alabama as the measure for success is ridiculous.
I agree with you he hasn’t proven to be elite. Yet.
But still a weird guy to pick on
I mean, is he just lucky?

He's pretty lucky.
Swap rosters, Dan gets Georgia's team this year -- Kirby gets Florida's team this year.
Does Kirby still go 11 - 1?
He's an average at best x's and o's guy. You don't lose to LSU 36 - 16 and Auburn 40 - 10 unless there's something terribly wrong going on -- I guess you guys call it bad luck, I call it: Getting served by the one real test they get all year.
This year they got practically three FCS teams:
Austin Peay
Middle Tennessee State
Umass
Georgia Tech
That alone has got to be one of the weakest OOC schedules out there right now.
Then in the regular season, toughest games:
UK (not a football school)
UF (complete coaching overhaul, coming off of 4 - 7 season)
That's it from the East.
LSU: Only big opponent on the schedule with any real teeth, they get blown out.
Auburn: 3 - 5 in the SEC.
Obviously he can't change his schedule, but this is not an impressive schedule. There is literally one big time team on there (LSU) and he got boatraced. Will be interesting to see what bowl they get after Alabama manhandles them.

Ok, regular season is over and now its time for me to think about recruiting...I just don't dwell on it early in the season because of the difficulty of dealing with 17-18 yr olds.
One thing Im always interested in is outside of high school..who are possible transfers or JUCOS we could use?
How much room is left in the inn?
We have a lot of needs, DBs obviously, LBs, OL, DL, plus a few RBs, WRs, we lose two TEs...maybe one there since we have Pitts, Gamble, Krull. Look for a punter since Townsend will be a senior...kicker we are good.
Any monster OL or DL we have chances with ??
