25 at UF until proven otherwise

I don't expect Wardrick Wilson to stick. He was recruited by Shannon

Edit: Mullen has offered a ton of 2019 kids already. Jr day should be coming up and that will be a good measure of who is interested in being a Gator

Mullen actually said that we're not going to have a really full class -- however, I think he was just being ''kind'' to cover up that we're probably going to have some transfers and therein we will need a big class, he just didn't want to appear that we were pushing people out.

I honestly don't expect any of them to stick or leave at this point, it's just going to depend if Mullen thinks they're a good fit or if they think they're a good fit. A lot of the 2019 class just outright disappeared after McElwain left.

We're currently trying to flip an MSU commit.

Diwun Black 4* ATH Everyone believes he'll go to Ole Miss, but I think we're going to be able to steal him.

Our other top targets that are showing interest to Florida:

Jordan Whittington 4* WR -- It's going to be a very, very tough battle against Texas and TAMU.

Marcus Stripling 4* DE Another fight against TAMU.

Trey Knox 4* WR Ohio State and Tennessee lean, I doubt we can wiggle our way in but he's got perfect size.

Ge'mon Eaford 4* LB Michigan and FSU battle that we're hoping to get in on. He's recently shown a heightened interest in UF after we changed to a 3 - 4.

Wanya Morris 4* OL Georgia lead, but we might be able to cut into that by offering playing time, his size might also be a serious issue if he's looking to play for Georgia. (He's small.)

Derrick McLendon 4* LB A fight between Alabama and Georgia.

Renardo Green 4* CB Fighting everyone in Florida for this one.

Chris Steele 5* CB

Honestly, I think if we have a good year from Wilson and Henderson and we can secure an OV, I think we can take him from USC who is the favorite.

100% with you on it. We have a lot of out of state uphill battles that we're going to have -- and Mullen is going to have to really have on the field success next year to get us back in the recruiting race.

For cornerbacks, though, we are absolutely DBU. Safeties have been tapering off but we seem to develop NFL CBs every year and if we have a very good year with a lot of good wins, I could see more recruits looking at us.

Bottom line, though: We have to produce on the field. Period.

re: 2019 Recruiting Thread: Return of the Mullen. Updated 10/30.
I disagree with the W-L column Straws....Helen Hunts best recruiting class at UGA came after a 6-7 season losing to UCF in a shite bowl game.

Can our staff pitch and close? That's TBD yet. You bet your azzets I could go in home...kiss the babies, pinch mommas's azz cheeks and get that kid done. But I have been involved in sales and marketing all my life...most coaches are just that...coaches and aren't always the best salesmen.

Spurrier had no interest in selling UF to 17-18 yr olds, but he had Zook who really was an ace recruiter. Do we have a Zookster on our staff? One young asst coach can make the HC look brilliant?

A 6-7 season can be a positive when you approach kids with early and often playing time. A 4-7 season is the same thing but DM didn't have the time to develop a close relationship with most recruits. Of course it is much better to recruit after a 11-1 season. Rivals wont have ammo to spread stories that DM is heading elsewhere is a plus.

I'm not necessarily talking about wins and losses as much as I am: show improvement.

McElwain wasn't necessarily fired because of the W/L column but how he won and lost, and of course the craziness at the end that let us shirk like 5 million dollars from him.

In the end, we need players to look like they belong on the field and it'll make it MUCH easier to sell to recruits in the long run.

There's a highlight on Twitter that shows our defensive backs for one play -- and that every single one of them was starting or had started in the NFL since. That is some really good recruiting propaganda.

We're not going to go 6 - 7 next year unless we have another fraud scandal, but if we go 9 - 3 / 8 - 4 with some tough close losses, it might not be that bad.

For what it's worth, I give Mullen a very short leash for next year because 1. we're returning almost all of our starters and 2. it's a very favorable schedule.

We start off with what's essentially three cupcakes at home, one against an FCS, Kentucky who we should own at BHG and then we play CSU who probably won't like the weather. After that, he needs to have a good showing. Zero excuses from day one.

re: 2019 Recruiting Thread: Return of the Mullen. Updated 10/30.
I watched a lot of Emory in high school video cutouts and what really impresses me is his ability to throw long and accurate...sometimes into tight coverages 30-40 yds downfield. In high school you can get away with that and we will have to see him against SEC DBs to really guage his throwing. His receivers helped him out a lot but he did throw on the run a lot and hit his targets.

Do I think he starts day one? Hope not unless he is REALLY ready. DM may think 2018 is perfect to start him since he will have that honeymoon first year with fans. I think some QB on our roster will start....or should start and then work a true frosh QB get into some series to allow him to acclimate.

I'm too old to wait many years for offense to be a force. and besides....fans will grow very restless with a crappy offense that's been our trademark since 2009. DM doesn't want to lose fan's faith and so he should start out with doing everything he can to make fans start believing. DM is our third HC since 2010 and we need to make it stick.

UF coaches from last season on offense include two currently still unemployed (Dixon and Nord) and one that went from coordinator to analyst. And an “offensive head coach” that is about to be a wide receivers coach.

Just a true shame.

Saw this... almost cried

The only in state uphill battle should be Miami because Richt has been there a few years. Mullen doesn't get excuses next class. he did a great job this class. So I'm not the least bit unhappy. Next class needs to be very good though. Top ten for sure, but needs an average star rating of 91+

re: 2019 Recruiting Thread: Return of the Mullen. Updated 10/30.
Emory will be okay because we actually have the talent to make teams ''think''. Del Rio had a good game against Kentucky by just checking plays. Go up to the line, pretend you're running an audible, run for six yards because you made the edge blitz hesitate.

We have an outstanding stable of running backs, but better yet we might have the legitimate threats on the edge, slot and TE to finally take a shite ton of pressure off of the QB and line.

The problem last year is that we literally just ended up losing our only long threat, and then our only playmaker threat and for whatever reason the team didn't want to utilize Massey. This year, we just have so many weapons that even if we lose guys, we'll be okay because at least we know the guy behind him is actually a good player.
