What metric are you using? There's been article after article that being in the NC, having tons of NFL players on your roster and winning a ton of games that rosters full of 4-5*s beats 3*s almost every time. It's a proven fact.

quote:

He always mixes up ''3*s aren't bad'' with ''don't judge someone just because they're a 3*''.

quote:

Stars do matter statistically speaking, but a lot of guys go under the radar and perform well -- a lot of guys also have the stars and perform badly. I get it, but the metric of stars has shown time and time again not to be 100%

We say the same thing but you have this weirdly psychotic need to be combative about everything. Stars do matter, but there are many cases where they don't matter at all -- there are other influences. Dak Prescott is just one of many players who were given very little chance at QB until someone figured out how to use him and develop his talents.

Really, though, guys who can make 3*s play like 5*s are more valuable than guys who have 5*s in the end -- because most back ups aren't going to be elite. You need to get guys like Davis (who would have been 4th string on our team) who everyone sleeps on and you end up with something good.

Again, don't take this to mean that stars don't matter -- they just don't always matter across the board.

You literally cannot help but shite your pants in most debates, man.

Dude there are fricking 1000+ 3*s per year of course there will be missed and gems.

For five-stars alone, the chances are about 0.01 percent. The odds of being even a three-star recruit or better are approximately 0.6 percent.

Link where I said that. Post the receipts. I've always said your roster should be filled with 4/5* guys if you want to compete for NC along with great coaching.

Malik Davis was a 4*. You act like you don't need elite talent to win. Member when you touted all the gems Mac signed as proof the articles I posted and the services were wrong? I do. Turns out most of Macs 3*s didn't do shite. Which is par for the course at UF. We've always had great success with 4/5* guys.

I said that, you mook. I'm saying you're right, but not ubiquitously.

Malik Davis was a 4*.

His 247 profile is apparently conflicted, because they absolutely had him listed as a 3* before he got to Florida.

Every time I try to talk to you about this you get the wrong impression and I sincerely have to wonder if you just don't know how to listen to an opposing opinion whatsoever -- or an opinion that's telling you you're right.

Yessir, and he's been tweeting a lot of Gators and the like.

Turned out to be a pretty good weekend.

You can tell he was heavily recruited and that he had a blast. Of course, time will tell, but it's looking outstanding for us right now.

Agreed. We need a safety as well though since the medical issue.

Has Florida moved on from Quay Walker? We feel like we have a good shot at him.

We had to survive his OV to Bama, and unless something hasn't been reported, looks like we have. He still has an OV scheduled this weekend at Auburn, but he changes plans constantly. I'm not worried about Auburn at all, but if he decides to visit Florida instead, that would make me nervous.

His last visit is UGA, which is the scariest right now. If JJ Peterson visits with him, we have a 50/50 shot (If Walker doesn't visit Florida). If he visits Georgia without JJ, I put our chances at about 20%.

What's the latest on your end?

I think everything went quiet on UF's end with Quay.

Pretty sure he cancelled his OV with UF and did not reschedule so UF is probably out of it.
