Florida does notoriously have quite a shitty fan base. Our twitter fans are ridiculous at times, so there’s that. I just wouldn’t read too much into a kids twitter posts. Jmo

I'm with you, and I've told most people on most sites (including this one) to tell your friends and family to leave recruits alone after all the Corral shite -- but you definitely say that a fan base of a school you're interested in should be included in the ''worst'' of a picture. It's just bad optics.

I think he'd be a great player, but I just get this feeling that he's leaning toward Alabama and less toward Florida, the start of a good relationship doesn't begin with you telling the fans just had bad they are (no matter how true it is).

Also, and off-topic: Some of the other posters are getting regularly trolled by some UGA posters and multiple ''is there anyone at the gates?'' posts go up every week -- is there any way you could review (pretty please) some of the recent UGA posters?

60% of UFs roster is 3* gems who sucked. For every Toney or Davis you get a lot more Williamson, Fred Johnson, and Jake Allen's. The more elite talent you get the better off you are. This is a fact.

Elite talent is the key. Having better players win football games. Good coaches can evaluate, get, and develop talent.

I just think that the recruiting services miss on a lot of kids. A lot of the rankings come from performance at a camp or 7 on 7.

If a 3* player has legit offers from Bama, Clemson, or Ohio State more than likely he is under valued. Especially if they get OVs a high level schools.

Mac got a bunch of no talent arse clowns. Look at WR, Hammond and Swain were both 4*s but are complete mehs on the field.

Agree with the offer sheet.

I don't mind taking a few possible gems in needed positions. But overall, we need blue chips. History proves this.

My few on three stars is simple. Which major offers do they have besides us. If top recruiters want them. If guys known to find talent want them. I want them. If it's Louisville and FAU as our top competition...pass please.

Franks, Hammond, Swain were all four stars and looked less than ''meh''.

Davis and Toney had almost no one looking at them -- so did Dak Prescott (a lot of people wanted him at a different position than QB). Stars do matter statistically speaking, but a lot of guys go under the radar and perform well -- a lot of guys also have the stars and perform badly.

I get it, but the metric of stars has shown time and time again not to be 100%. I trust Mullen at this point, and I'm confident that if we do take 4*s it will be because he sees something others don't and it isn't because he's wildly fortunate.

247 is making the recent CBs VIP. So you have to pay for it.

I try to find things behind the pay walls all over the place, and if I see anything actually changing I'll post it.

Right now, it's looking like we're going to end up with an insanely strong class for a transition.

Need 2 of the 4 OLs at the minimum. NPF, Gouriage (sic), Barnes, and Montilus in that order. NPF and Gouraige/Barnes and Montilus could both be package deals per Zack A. They are visiting the weekend. Hevesy needs to do well.

Watkins is a big get because he could be a CB or WR if we strike out at one. Especially if we miss on Copeland.

A lot of big time talent visiting the next three weekends. Lets see how well this staff closes.

Edit: If I was going to pay for a UF recruiting website it would be Scout right now. Jason Higdon has sources on the staff in Billy G and Hevesy. Also Bob always finds a walkon or scrub to give him team info.

247 is the better overall site with CBs and the Composite but they have no sources on the UF side. Mostly they get info from other 247 sites.

TJ...I never once stated that stars DONT count...maybe remedial reading is necessary? What I have stated basically is that 3 stars can be an asset and developed. I happen to like Fred Johnson btw...he doesn't quite have the footwork you would like but he contributed quite a bit and started probably a dozen or more games. He is a real mountain of a man child at 6'7 and blocks out the sun with his presence.

Not everyone can be a 5 star or a highly sought after 4 star TJ...but I know we need OL who can start SEC games and also be a backup. He could have a breakout year...who is to say? OL is a position especially that requires a developing period. You don't see Leatherwood playing like a 5 star now for Bama do you? Some OL take longer than others to finally be ready....but go ahead consider them insignificant in your world. Again, its nice to recruit a bunch of highly sought after players...but we aren't getting 85 of them on roster nor will anyone else.

BTW we got our asses kicked this year because of horrendous QB play by a highly rated recruit. Del Rio played all 12 games? We would have gone to a bowl game of some type.

He always mixes up ''3*s aren't bad'' with ''don't judge someone just because they're a 3*''. There are tons of players who have successful careers -- DAK PRESCOTT, HEM, HEM.

It doesn't happen all the time, statistically it doesn't happen a lot -- but there are definitely coaches who can sniff out guys who are going to be impressive despite their star rating.

What metric are you using? There's been article after article that being in the NC, having tons of NFL players on your roster and winning a ton of games that rosters full of 4-5*s beats 3*s almost every time. It's a proven fact.

You named 1 guy out of thousands. How many 3*s out of the last 15 years have been major contributors. I'm willing to gamble it's less than 30%. Where as with 4/5* guys we've had 50+% success.

Lulz at you touting Fred Johnson. So he's a big kid look around the SEC. They're everywhere. He played because he had to. Lulz at you comparing a true freshman to a junior. If a guy isn't playing well his first 3 years it's safe to say he sucks. You could give them a decade and they'd be average at best. When did UF have a great OL? When it was stocked with 4/5*s. Every NC winner has had a 60+% Blue chip ratio of 4/5*s when they won a title. How many with 60% 3*s won a title or even made the NC? 0. You need great coaching and elite talent.
LDR played and we looked like shite. We weren't going bowling regardless because we sucked arse in every phase of the game.
