Who else is excited that we aren't opening on a Thursday this year?

I am glad we are playing on a Saturday, but hate to not be down at IOP for Labor Day.

I actually prefer Thursday that first weekend so I can focus on a long LDW

I'm happy about it ... beats an early Thursday night game for sure. If we ever agree to a 6PM game again then somebody needs their butt whipped.

At the same time I am told NC State has already sold out their allotment for the game ... and we have not as of yet. State fans seem overly pumped for this coming season and for the team they are returning.

I agree, it was awesome having the game on Thursday. In 2010 I went on a road trip with a buddy to our opener on Thursday night (my tix) then went to Atlanta to watch UNC v LSU (his tix) on Saturday night. I also saw us take out the tar holes a couple of times but that would have happened on any night.

This year I'm going to miss our opener because of a wedding. If we were playing on Thursday it could've made up for the last NC State game I attended. The top row of Carter Finley during a hurricane in 99 was memorable but not for the right reason.

Yeah, I was there for that one ... almost drowned. The rows of steps between bleacher sections looked like rivers.

Bad holding call on Phillip Jones cost us the game ... really bad call, could have completely changed our entire season.

I think NC State had Phillip Rivers and Tory Holy that year as well.

I was actually sitting next to Phillip Jones' parents for that game ... good people.

The first game of the year is a game that I actually don't mind being on Thursday because of Labor Day weekend. It is just so easy to make an extended weekend out of it.

I actually really like it when we play Vandy on the road on Thursday at the first game of the year. You can catch a weekend in the mountains on the way back.

I was in Carter Finley, too. It was the first non-Clemson away game I ever went to, and we got soaked. We stayed in my uncle's RV, and I'll never forget the musty odor of that weekend.
