The trustee, Charles Williams, had no choice with it being pointed out that there had not been a 5 day notice on the vote. Funny how the news here showed Sen. Daryl Jackson discussing it at the podium . He is Jim Clyburns boy and his son is the guy pushing the state top basketball recruits away from USC.

The funny part is that we had a university official get hired to be president of the U of Minnesota during this process. I mean...was she never considered?

Meh.
She went to Minnesota , probably doesn’t like football

USC’s Faculty Senate is holding an emergency meeting Thursday where professors could condemn the board for scheduling a vote after Gov. Henry McMaster lobbied all of the trustees to reconsider Caslen. On Wednesday evening, students gathered for a campus forum complained about the vote taking place during the sparsely populated summer semester.

These groups would also probably advise us to drop sports altogether and donate tens of millions of dollars to the Queer Transgender African American Jewish club. Doesn't mean we should listen to them.

You seen USC's demographics lately. Our student body profile is closer to that of CCU than what it was when I was in school.

Eh only 2.9% NJ 2.8% PA and 2.1% OH
Still majority SC, NC, VA and GA which make up 76.7% of the student body
Clemson has similar figures to that as well

Coastal is literally 11.1% NJ (it’s second state behind only 47.4% SC)
6.9% NY
5.0% PA
3.8% MA

And on top of that the SC that go there is trash from like Chapin or Dillon

I think we're all overlooking the most critical point here.

He's already got numerous national championships in football with his affiliation to UCF.

Nope.

Chapin is just generally regarded as having the best schools in the Columbia metro area and has high-income lakefront communities all over the place.

Dillon is...Dillon.

I will have to say Chapin and Dillon are on opposite sides of the spectrum.

Regardless we need a President that understands the importance of sports to a schools national importance. I believe CG's post explained this quite well.

Considering a trustee filed the motion with the judge to stop the meeting, I guess you were incorrect with at least this one point.

Last minute strategy encouraged by Clyburn in the face of the fact that six votes this year have been held without the five day notice.

None of those previous votes will be invalidated.

Leave it to OBurg and Sumter county reps to stall on a technicality and delay the inevitable.

McMaster had every right to call for a vote. It by no means set any sort of of precident.

This dust up was all orchestrated by Harris. He's not going to get his way in the end.

Someone asked about Joan Gabel. Joan was not seen as a popular choice among her friends and colleagues because she had a strong background in international business but not in research.

Whoever said Caslen is not a fundraiser could not be more wrong. He will step in with more contacts in various fields where the big research money lies than any president in our history.

All anyone had to see was Sen. Daryl Jackson leading the charge to know Clyburn was behind it. It's so obvious it's sickening.
