Why not? Sure they have a crappy football history. Guess what? Historically, so do the Gamecocks. The point is, that when you give a coach time to get things right, good things happen.

agreed completely, but I just feel that the vast majority/a good number of our fans don't want to see that.

Also they have the stigma of being a "basketball school"

Now before you come in "well we are women's basketball school or baseball school" we are not. Those are both minor sports. You are basketball and football and looking at the fans/culture etc surrounding our school, we are a football school.

OMG a serious post by IBG? (j/k)

I totally agree with you as well.

We just need to let things play out a bit. Did ya'll see Muschamp's presser? He was pissed.

(I) can't it for them. They have to catch the ball. That's why they're on scholarship. They have to catch the ball. - Will Muschamp

A few breaks our way and it's a different game.

That isn't exactly out of character for Muschamp.

Whats the worst that happens we get 6?

I could see that being a problem for some.
It is what it is.

The changes that need to be made are to bring in more talent.

You want Bentley to sit a quarter. This is just, well frankly, stupid. We dont have a quality backup qb so we would be even worse sitting Bentley.

If our wr actually got separation then Bentley would look much better but even worse is our running game. The ol is much improved. Maybe Jake is the wrong Bentley that needs to be benched.

How many times has Bentley underthrown a wide open receiver?

I'm not trying to say it's just Bentley's fault because it isn't but he has not looked good at all.

usually when you lack talent you try to go with more of an approach similar to how Kentucky does it.

That QB had us guessing everytime. Jake had some nice scrambles but the defense knows what they're getting with him

Kentucky has a good group of experienced, and tall, DB's. They're likely the best group we've seen all year.

Deandre Baker notwithstanding, personally, I think so.

The UGA guys are likely "more talented", but the KY guys are more experienced. And as the old saying goes, "old age and treachery beats youth and skill every time"...

CB Derrick Baity, SR 6'3" 3*
Safety Darius West, SR 6'0" 4*
Safety Mike Edwards RS SR 6'0" 3*
DB Lonnie Johnson, SR 6'3" 3*
DB Jordan Griffin JR 6'1" 3*

vs UGA

DB Tyson Campbell FR 6'2" 5*
CB J.R. Reed RS JR 6'1" 3*
CB Deandre Baker SR 5'11" 3*
DB Richard LeCounte So 5'11" 4*
DB William Poole So 6'0" 4*

Many assumed the transition would be quick and painless. It has not so far.

We were 3-9 and lost to the Citadel, who in the hell thought it would be a quick transition and why? If anything Muschamp spoiled the fanbase by going from 3 wins to 9 in just two years. He took over a shitshow with little talent and worked miracles the first two years, that's a fact.

No one is happy with the way the season has started, and it needs to improve quickly going forward. But I remember those 11 win teams all had a what the frick game that there was no excuse for. Lost to a terrible Auburn team at home, didn't show up to Florida and got destroyed, and completely choked in Knoxville. So let's not jump off the cliff just yet.

This team is not as devoid of talent as ppl are letting on. When you got a qb that’s committed 6 turnovers in four games it’s hard to win like that. I don’t care how much talent you have around him. It’s especially hard on the defense. Outside of two drives where Kentucky went down the field they really didn’t do too much. 17 of their 24 came off TO’s.

because in 2 years we won 9 games.
People didn't look at the schedule, they just saw 9 wins and assumed something would better this year.
ANY fanbase save Kentucky and Vandy would be acting the same.
Most assumed that after 9 wins last year and most of that team returning, we would for sure match or do better.

Those teams had WTF teams but the talent on those teams were far superior.
I mean even Clemson in Playoff appearances had WTF games. The year they won the title they lost to Pitt.
Same could be said for UF a few back, they got beat by Ole Miss.

Disagree completely actually.
Now days that doesn't hold water (for the elite teams)
Bama was one of the youngest teams in the country last year.

Now days schools like that (Bama, UGA, Clemson, OSU) are bringing in Elite Talent that takes over experience.

Kentucky has been good so far and they are definitely a better team than us, but I think UGA beats em by double digits this year.

Kids are coming in much more talented and prepared to make significant impacts as true freshman now then they were 10 years ago, and it will only get better as we advance along.

Bentley has had times where he could do needle point because of the ol but wr don't get open.
If our run game had a heartbeat then maybe defenses would have to bring the safety up and we could pass better.

I also, while I'm bitching, want to see more of aj turner. Dude hits the hole fast and doesn't let is close up. In our spread offense a running back like that is needed.

Been saying this since the kid stepped on campus.
Joke all you like about him tripping up on that long run, but it was pretty much the longest run our "running game" has produced all year.

I would take AJ over Rico anyday.
