Coaching: Muschamp preaches discipline and toughness, but his teams have none. It’s embarrassing. Whether it’s dropped passes, unforced errors, stupid turnovers, stupid penalties, tripping over are own feet, or being incapable of flipping the field and downing a ball at the half yard line. We should all be disgusted.

Recruiting: spurrier openly bragged about how little he worked..... and guess what? Mr I can sell ice to eskimos can’t recruit any better than Steve. Look at the recruiting rankings. If anything, Muschamp is a worse recruiter. Where are our difference makers? Bentley? No. Dowdle? No. Edwards? No. Look at the defense. A guy who is supposed to be a defensive genius can’t get a mediocre Sec level linebacker or safety. Greene is awful. All safeties are awful. It’s pretty pathetic. We’ve been passed by Kentucky.

Execution: Jake needs to sit a quarter. He doesn’t need to start at mizzou. He needs to sit an think. He has no one pushing him so the coaches need to do it themselves. He has regressed every year and he’s no longer a Sec level Qb. He’s not. Our receivers apparently read their clippings and now can’t catch a cold (shi smith excluded). Deebo has been vastly overrated. Edwards dropped 2 huge passes last night.
Running backs are even worse. Dowdle is not an Sec level back. We don’t have an Sec level back; but at least turner and denson play with heart. Dowdle needs to hit the bench for a game or two. Let turner and denson share the load and maybe let fenwick play.

If we win 6 or less, we need to consider firing champ after NSD. We also may need to encourage Jake to leave early so we can focus on the future. He’s not the future. Senior Bentley isn’t winning more than 5 or 6 games with the schedule we’ve got. I’d rather win 4 or 5 with the future (hilinski or Joyner)

When Kentucky loses talent and is expected to regress and they get better...well that says one thing. When we have more talent and expected to do well, but we regress...that says another. This staff is not where it should be. We are screwed for this year. The offense is no better and Muschamp had better takes a "hands on" on the defense or the season could go down the tubes. We should be no less than 3-1 with a close loss to UGA at home....we are nowhere near that.

Spurrier was 6-6 his third year and our offense was average at best. Should we have fired him then too?

I haven't seen one person advocate firing Muschamp. It seems Muschamp has done what Spurrier did in his later years...he has taken his eyes off the ball. Spurrier's downfall was hiring unqualified assistants in house instead of getting a proven guy. Muschamp has taken a page from that book and it's biting him in the a@$ now....

On the brighter side, we held KY scoreless in the second half, and Snell to less than 100 yards.

This game was on failed execution. Nothing more and nothing less. Guess what? Our players are human and played like it.

I'm Broken.

Can anyway convince me to step off the ledge and that everything isnt that bad?

Because right now it looks bad. but I suppose recruiting is getting better and better.

Watching people drop the ball, fumble, and trip all over the place just really got me into a bad place. Even Deebo looked like he sucked.

I am waiting until the end of the season before I get to the ledge. We still have a lot of games left. The season last year might have set us up for unrealistic expectations. We very easily could have lost to LATECH, Tenn, Fla and Vandy. They all made pushes but time ran out and we won. The comeback in the Michigan game and getting a new OC got us excited about a 9-3 or 10-2 type season.
If we get our shite together, we still can have a good season. I cannot tolerate an undisciplined team that shoots itself in the foot over and over. If they play their guts out and the other team is better, I can deal with it. What gets me depressed is believing that we should have blown KY off the map.The plays were there but veteran players dropping passes, veteran RBs fumbling and tripping on blades of grass, players talking trash (why?) doomed us. Not sure Jake is a big stage player but the loss was on the TEAM not just him.

the fan base has higher expectations now since then.
He brought us to 3 top 10 finishes in a row. No other coach had done that.
Many assumed the transition would be quick and painless. It has not so far.
I could see where they are coming from but some need to step back and realize where we are.

He also decimated this teams roster.

Steve's first 5 years at SC: 7-5, 8-5, 6-6, 7-6, 7-6

Steve's last 5 years at SC: 9-5, 11-2, 11-2, 11-2, 7-6

Obviously that last year was the start of the retired in place years....

Muschamp's trajectory looks very similar to the first 3 years of SOS's, and he has had less to work with in those 3 years.

It's interesting and ironic that we played Kentucky this past weekend. Their administration had the guts to stick with Mark Stoops through several bad seasons, 2-10, 5-7, 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 and now 5-0. It's called program building.

Our fans could and should learn from what they've done in Lexington.

Sure, if we lose to Mizzou I'll come up to NY and find a nice tall building.

I would say even with the 5 straight losses to UK our fanbase would not like to compare their football program with UK.

Why not?

Sure they have a crappy football history. Guess what? Historically, so do the Gamecocks.

The point is, that when you give a coach time to get things right, good things happen.
