Do you think the dogs are regretting firing Richt now?

Miami is well on to the playoff and UGA's season is over and a disappointment.

Good to see them UF and UT struggling.

Mark Richt has lost control of the bulldogs!!!!

I wish us struggling meant going to the SEC championship with a very real chance of still going to the playoffs

but but but.... Miami is undefeated.

I'd rather be where we are then where they are.

Their team built by Richt will all leave. Will BOOM MUSChamp has his team in place and will take over the east for years to come.

If they were having the season they're currently having under Richt, and still lost to Auburn on Saturday, they would just say it's further proof that Richt can't win the big games.

Their reaction to having a bad game on Saturday would have been the exact same if Richt were still their coach, perhaps worse. They'd still say he can never get over the hump, and a change would be needed.

UGA is 9-1, still have a shot at the playoff, and Kirby is pulling in outrageous recruits. If they can't be pleased with that, they never will be.

I'm happy to see Miami getting its swagger back under Richt. It just shows that all that program needed was someone who knew what the hell they were doing.

Agreed.

Miami never had a talent problem. They're still sending guys to the NFL.

They just didn't have a coach who had any idea.

And even in the year they won the title, Coker had no idea what he was doing, but was looking it up, that 2001 defense had 11 first round picks on it. Even Coker couldn't mess that up.

Nah. I think Smart will have much more long term success than Richt will at Miami.

What if Richt wins the whole show in his 2nd year at Miami. I will

Richt's career had really stagnated at UGA, honestly. His press conferences the last few years, he really just looked like he didn't have the fire anymore. I think it was a move that was good for both parties. We're recruiting better under Smart, specifically in the trenches. Richt's ambivalence towards OL recruiting always kind of blew my mind. Saturday sucked, but it is what it is. 2018 we'll probably take a small step back, losing about 10 total starters; offense might be a little better, defense probably will be a little worse. 2019 I think is when UGA should be able to compete with the big boys, though. If we can't do it in 2019, then we probably never will.

psh.

It's much tougher to do it here than there!

look at who he has to compete against! Us with BOOM bringing in top class after top class and really putting us in the right direction. Auburn who just wrecked em. Bama in the west who they would have to even get passed in the SECCG ... good luck.

And then you got Florida. Who should hire a good coach this time around. Can't mess up twice.

Over there he just has Clemsux to deal with and I think they're definitely trending down right now.

Same!

Although I hope he doesn't. Hope he beats Clemsux on the way and the SEC Keeps it in conference.

Can't be losing two years in a row, especially to the A She She.

I mean, maybe in head to head. But Miami has to compete against every P5 program in the country for its recruits.

Have you missed UFA's recruiting the last two years? Kirby is killing it right now. He's on a whole new level that Richt couldn't get to.

And Richt was never gonna get us to the NC. One because he neglected recruiting on the OL and DL. His philosophy was that great skill players will make up for average line play. Two, he had poor roster management. And three, the admins make him be more hands off on coaching and become a manager instead of a coach. Stupid move on their part.

Kirby's first two full classes will both be top 5 classes, which is something Richt never did. Last year was also the first time we signed two 4-star offensive tackles in the same class since the 90's. We signed a total of four 4-star OL last class, which was unheard of under Richt. That will be the biggest difference between the two staffs, in my opinion.

FWIW, I think both UGA and USC are on the rise. Depending on who Florida hires, they will probably comprise the top 3 in the division for the foreseeable future.

I actually am Kinda scared of Chip.

Everyone points at "defense" but the guy got by with shite at Oregon. He'll build a staff and recruit well from Florida.

People say "he never built a program" but look at Oregon right now?

Chip reminds me of urban meyer, and yea he recruited thugs, but they had a deadly 6 year run. I don't want to witness that again.

I hope they hire strong.

I’d would rather face Chip Kelly than Scott Frost the next 10 years. Besides, I don’t think Chip is long for the job, guy is a walking NCAA violation. Don’t forget about the Eagles players calling him racist, I’m sure an opposing coach will bring that up on the recruiting trail.
