Refs are getting too involved here in the 2nd half. Seems like they're trying to give UConn a chance.

Dawn truly has built something special

I was sitting down by the court and had to cut across the floor to get to my egress after the game. She had one current, and some future, big time recruits there for the game. One in particular came in trying to decide between us and UConn. After the game she looked wide eyed and excited ... I hope she decided it's us.
The young lady already signed with us who had knee surgery ... she was there, she was on crutches. She's as big as Kamila from where I was standing. Also, the Edwards young lady was there.
Seemed like I saw all the men's team there, cheering them on and including Lamont.
I sat with Carie Rich and Alex but there were a lot more Gamecock celebrities at that game .... it was, honestly, the most intimidating atmosphere we've probably had in awhile. Reminded me of the old days with Frank McGuire.
When they do the Chic-fil-A parachute thing ... that's one of the coolest things in college basketball.

Her and McGuire would have gotten along really well I think. He would have been proud of what she built.

Yeah, Coach was cool for sure. I loved that man.
I hope to see him again one day wherever. Good times. I miss those times. I was so blessed as a young man .... Todd & Moore was the hangout for those guys back then. Cosch Loving and Coach Walsh, Coach Freeman ... sheeesh, incredible. I feel like Forest Gump sometimes. Even all the guys I had on my show over those years ... they're all gone now. All of them, Carlen, Dan Reeves, Coach Dietzel, Coach Bass, all gone.
Frank was the Dean though. I used to wheel Frankie around ... he just liked me for some reason. Coach McGuire, you're exactly right ... he would have loved Dawn and she would have loved him imho. I know her well enough ... she's not who most people think she is.

Coach McGuire gave me my MVP trophy for the YMCA basketball league. I'm kinda short and as he handed me the trophy he said " you must be tough". Him talking to me was more exciting than getting the award

Coach McGuire was also pretty progressive for those days. So in that regard they would have gotten along too but youre right Staley is incredibly nice in person. I really think she loves the area and community and I am happy to have her.
that said, can you start a thread where you just write stories from the people you talked to. You have knowledge and stories it sounds like that unfortunately won't be around unless you repeat them.

I love that our mens and womens teams have basically used modern uniforms based off those old Mcguire uniforms. The women have the USC shorts, the men with the old school South Carolina
