this is our 2nd or 3rd best win of all time.

#1 Alabama 2010
#3 UNC 1981
#3 UGA 2019
#4 Ole Miss 2009
#5 UGA 2012
#5 Missouri 2013

Honestly it could be first
Especially if Georgia ends up winning the east and playing for the SECCG

In terms of it being a sheer upset ... this one was our biggest.

Started at +25.5 and even at kickoff it was still +1000 in Vegas.

It was on the road against the consensus #3 team in the country.

Fromm and his RBs and his OLine were touted as unstoppable .... a well oiled machine. Announcers were even saying Fromm is the #1 game manager in college football, early.

UGA has the best FG kicker in college football.

No one had been able to run the ball on Georgia. We were going to have to do that to even have a chance to keep it close.

Fromm had not thrown an interception all year. I think he had only been sacked once in his past seven games.

Even at halftime ESPN was not listing this game as an Upset Alert game. Matter of fact when Jesse Palmer and the other guy were asked at halftime if SC could hang on .... both replied, "nope, no way, Georgia comes out and dominates this game in the second half."

All week and clean through halftime we were given ZERO chance.

This one was our biggest upset win in history imho. And I remember well all of those others listed. Matter of fact I was at every single one of those games except the one yesterday.

This one seemed insurmountable going in .... no chance. Yet we won. And we won in spite of some things that could have easily cost us this game. We won because we made some good things happen, we made our own good breaks.

Agreed and that 2010 gamecocks team was far superior to this team. This has to be number one. Congrats again gamecocks

I would say 3rd best. No way does it top beating a #1 Alabama and I also put beating #3 unc in 1981 above this.

Is it the biggest win for your program? I don't know, that is open for debate.

Is it a huge win for your program? That is a given. With his back to the wall Muschamp has pulled off some big wins.

I remember a lot of us (Gamecock fans) felt an upset brewing prior to that 2010 Bama game in Williams-Brice. Points were down to +17.5 by kickoff and +200 on the straight up win.

Everyone thought we were going to beat UNC in Chapel Hill in '81. They had not played anyone. They had weaknesses everywhere. They had moved up steadily in the poll all year not because they beat winning teams but rather because teams ahead of them lost.

We destroyed them. I wanna say the final was 31-13. It was never close.

We had beaten several teams that were on their schedule, handedly, plus we played the toughest schedule in the country that year. #2 Clemson, #3 UNC #4 Pittsburg, #10 Georgia.

Two weeks after we beat them the sheep humping sister bangers beat them. If I remember correctly UNC only beat one or two teams with winning records that year.

It was not that big of an upset, especially retrospectively looking at that game.

It was fun at the time. I had driven all the way over from Fort Bragg with my ex wife and another couple and we had a ball afterwards in Chapel Hill.

I'll always put Bama #1 at the top of the list, as it was a program first. And for 1 week, the way we beat #5 Uga at home, was up there. But then came the LSU night game and Florida FLu game and burst our bubble.

We can split hairs about 1 game being bigger than another, but either way you fall everyone has to agree, this win is up there among the greatest in program history.

I think you’ll have a better idea once the season plays out. If this springs us to 8-4 or something along those lines, then it’s a lot bigger than if we flop and go 5-7.

I disagree just because this team could end up better

Another one that people forget too is the Georgia team that beat Hawaii in the sugar bowl
They ended the season ranked second in the country

Yes and that Alabama team wasn’t as great as their ranking was when we beat them
