Nah. Clemson just won the national championship and has had just a freakish ability to get guys to commit early.

They're at their best while we are at our worst.

We should have seen this coming when he went to IMG. We never had a chance. XT may say we were in it, but we were never in it.

Don't know about trolling, but Thomas has been all Clemson for quite some time. Whatever you thought was going in our favor last weekend, wasn't ever really that. Growing up the fan of one program doesn't guarantee anything if you let the program fall around your knees.

If Muschamp really wants to have much of a career as a head coach at the major college level, he better step it up and quickly. Things don't fall in people's laps at South Carolina.

That said, the program was already sort of at everyone's knees to begin with when he took it over, thanks to Spurrier's staff at the end there. Those 11-2 seasons are now only meaningful to Gamecock Nation and no one else, thanks to their doings. The program and fanbase certainly doesn't deserve it....

Clemson gave him a blank check and told him write the amount to commit.

If that's the case then why do we not do that?

I swear some of our fans are extremely hyprocritical when it comes to this kinda SHO.

They act like Clemson is this irrelevant program that no one gives a shite about.
Then they come with this shite about how they always pay players (yet I haven't seen them be on any type of serious probation since the 80s). That would only mean that the NCAA favors them like they do to Bama, Auburn, SoCal, PSU, UK and UNC in hoops, the true blue bloods.

So are you then saying they are BlueBloods and on that level?

Are people really that surprised by this? We have no reason currently why a high recruit should come here

No, I think that was misunderstood. Before deshaun Watson they were a decent/good program that fell apart on the big stages. The NCAA doesn't have any proof that they're paying players but I mean it does seem fishy that XT would go from tweeting all Gamecock stuff and talking to our 2017 commits and stuff like that and being a self professed Gamecock fan growing up to commiting to Clemson in the span of 3-4 days. Not really a whole lot of other options to think of on our end besides that. Yeah, they won the title, which does help in recruiting, but that can't be the only reason otherwise he would have commited to them in January.

Y'all, he was never coming here. We don't have the recruitment/payment network that Clemson has right now. We just don't.

If we go against them for a kid, we're going to lose until some on-field results improve.
And based on the recruiting failures, it's a continuous cycle.

8-4 is this program's ceiling, and will be for a while.

Okay, I found out a good reason for him commiting to Clemson... Thats not money. Someone that I know that grew up down there said his girlfriend or something is going to Clemson this fall and he wants to be with her.

Clemson has done a pretty good job of putting DL in the NFL the last few years. That's got to be a huge draw for them as well.

Yea, wished we could've landed him but I'm also happy to no longer have to worry about some kid that loves putting everything on Twitter anymore.

Yea I do not follow recruiting religiously like so many do because there's no point in getting invested in it.

I learned with Carlos Dunlap signing with Florida on national signing day.

I haven't heard much about him at all. All I know is that he really does like us, and that he and roper have a good relationship.

He tweeted some interesting things yesterday. One about not staying uncommitted much longer.
