Lance Romance is being woo'd by Tennessee.
So is BMac. Both of them in a big way. Both of them are going to get big raises from us. So is the entire staff.
Mike Peterson has been contacted, or has been reached-out-to, by UF. Not sure in what capacity but I am assuming as a LB coach to his alma mater. I have no clue if Mullen took his LB coach to UF with him from Miss State or if the guy has prior experience coaching other positions.
T-Rob has been approached by a couple of programs .... I have not been able to find out by whom and for what position but I doubt it's as a DC and not for the money we are paying him already. I just do not see how.
B-Mac and Lance Romance would be major losses. UT definitely wants them and it would hurt us to lose them.
ETA: Jimbo has evidently reached-out as well.

I was the most nervous about Lance, but hasn’t UTK hired most of their defensive coaches now?

Not a clue. So out of touch I've been going by messages and texts that were left to me. Totally possible that UT has finished with their D staff.
ETA: So, evidently quite a few have already been hired including ... Chris Rumpf.

It was expected: our staff wasn't hired with huge salaries, mostly because Muschamp still needs to prove himself after his stint at UF. But he's been doing a solid job of that, and he and his staff were on line to get substantial raises after this season.
Spurrier was the #4 highest paid HC in the SEC at the end of his tenure, so its not a case of our AD not wanting to or not being able to pay competitive salaries.
Thompson IMO would have little reason to go to UT, except for money. He coached there under Kiffin, but he chose to leave his position at Alabama in order to learn under Lane's father Monte. Pruitt ain't got nothing to teach to Lance, who knows Saban's defense from stints at LSU and Bama better than Pruitt does.
Plus Thompson already is paid on a higher tier as "Assistant Head Coach For Defense", a title similar to what Ellis Johnson had with Ward being the DC, so both could be given multiple-year salaries.
BMac also has such a title as Co-OC, and T-Rob is DC. BMac may be getting ready to get his first true coordinator job as the main play-caller at USC. He hasn't really gotten true credit for USC's offense yet, and our offense hasn't exactly been a resume-builder to put it mildly. For him to move to a new team with HUGE questions on offense - far more than IMO what we have right now - may not move his career forward the way he wants it to. Unless like with Thompson, he wants the money...
Peterson was given his first coaching job by CWM at USC - he was a member of UF's S&C staff while CWM was at UF. He may answer the call from his alma mater, but I don't think he has much of a relationship with Mullens, as he was playing in the NFL during the time Mullens was at UF....
But CWM's staff are quality coaches and quality recruiters, and with so much staff turmoil and attrition within the SEC, it's only expected that other programs would come calling. Just hope Muschamp and Tanner are able to keep them here....

I wouldn't worry about McClendon going to UT with Pruitt. In Richt's last year at UGA, Pruitt had basically free reign to run the defensive side of things including hires. He kind of let it go to his head a little bit and there was a lot of friction between the offensive coaches and defensive coaches, to the point that a fight damn near broke out. Pruitt damn near got knocked the frick out by RB coach Thomas Brown. If McClendon refused to work for Kirby because of stuff that happened on the recruiting trail, I highly doubt he's going to go work for Pruitt at UT.

Defensive staff looks full, so I doubt Thompson comes. I heard he was wanting the DC spot.
DC/ILB Sherrer
OLB Rumph
DL Rocker
DBs Fair
McClendon was mentioned as a possible target for WR coach, but there hasn't been much talk recently over who Pruitt's targets are.

Lance is a guy who is always looking for his next opportunity. Not that's there is anything wrong with that, I think it's just a reality when hiring him that his tenure will probably be short-lived.
Maybe he's happier with us than his previous jobs in the SEC, but when he was announced as part of our staff I figured we'd probably get him for 2-3 seasons before he moved on.
I hope he stays, of course. Need all the recruiting power we can get.

Yeah however it may be to his own demise. If I'm an AD, there's no way he will ever be a serious contender for a HC gig. Not that he's necessarily looking for one. If you're just looking for a raise, idk why you'd be any less likely to get one staying where you are unless you produce unsatisfactory results.

Thank you bdv.
Man I am feeling rough though. I picked up some wicked bug on the planes or in the airports somewhere. I'm wearing a mask from here on out. Sheeeesh I feel like death warmed-over.

Every time I see someone wearing one, I'm like... man that looks so weird. And then, when I come home and promptly get sick, I'm like... WTF Is wrong with me... just buy one of the fricking things and put it on your face. Why do you care what you look like in an airport or on a plane.
Feel better hombre!

The family all wore one the last time we flew.
It was the first time we didn't get sick from air travel in a long time. As a result, they are on the menu again when we fly back at Christmas.
