He has until Jan 15th to decide. Keeping him would be a big boost for the defense next year. He was a 2nd Team All SEC last year and led all LB's nationally in INT's.

I don't know if he submitted his paperwork to the NFL Advisory committee, but I would think that he has.

It would be great if he would stick around. He'd be a major keeper if he does - could be a real asset, it goes without saying.

Provided he has not talked to an agent or anything already.

Would love for him to stay bit I think he is gone. It is best for him to go sell high not take a chance on the lottery. Love the guy but pass MLB to BAW.

The door is open for junior linebacker Skai Moore to return to South Carolina’s football team next season, first-year head coach Will Muschamp said Monday.

Moore, the Gamecocks’ leading tackler the last three seasons, had decided to give up his final season of eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL Draft, according to a source with the knowledge of the situation, but he is rethinking the decision and talking to Muschamp about the possibility of returning.

“He and I have had some very good conversations, and we’re still in the middle of that process,” Muschamp said.

Moore, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound Florida native, had 258 tackles in the last three seasons. His 110 stops in 2015 were the most by a South Carolina player since Jonathan Martin had 122 in 2002.

Moore’s name has been removed from the roster on the USC’s website.

This may be Champ's most important recruiting battle.

Change of topic real quick but does he also have the nickname Champ or is that something our fanbase just came up with?

I know he has Boom, but just wondering if Champ is another one or just because of his name.

Thanks,

Yes, he's been called Boom and Champ. Yes "Champ" b/c of his name.

Skai Moore is returning for his Sr Season per his Instagram account.

Probably the biggest 'recruit' at LB that Champ was going to get this cycle. Moore was 2nd Team All SEC this year. This is a big boost to our LB depth and starting LB corp.

This is huge ... not only for his playing ability and his leadership but for his attitude and how it will change the attitude of the guys returning for spring ball.

Playing Safety in 2016.

Smart move as he doesn't project as a LB in the NFL.

The interceptions. They sustain him.

First off, really important win for Muschamp to get him back. Will provide leadership and stability to a defense that was short on stars. Also hope it will serve as a precedent to other juniors in the future that are NFL caliber, but not top of the draft quality guys... it's okay to come back for your senior year. Feels like we've had as many guys make mistakes leaving as anyone the past 15 years or so.

Also, being able to move him to safety opens our defense up to be much more multi-dimensional. It will free us up to be more successful bringing our safeties up in run support or pass rushing. Let's us get more size on the field in our base, which should also help booster our run defense. Will also be a physical presence in the secondary that will make receivers running crossing routes keep one eye out for the big hit.

And with Holloman, BAW and Walton at LB, we should have our bases covered there.

This is a coup. Getting Skai back is incredibly helpful. Can't wait to see him get some more picks!

I really doubt he gets moved to safety. He was a LB in high school and a LB his whole college career. I don't see how he could get good enough in 8 months at a position he's never played to even be a contributor there. I think he projects well as a Will LB in a traditional 4-3 at the NFL level. Your rarely see guys move further away from the ball as they make a change of position. The only exceptions really are tweener DE's who get moved to OLB in a 3-4.

Glad he's coming back though wherever he plays next year.
