Nah fickell wasn't coming...napier would have, bit King Eskimo Ray bought more ice from another conman/politician. Before any of you Beamerites come crawling, Muschamp killed the presser too, so let's pump the brakes. He sold himself on getting a home run staff,and it is looking like a huge pile of meh. Beamer till proven otherwise is just another scott or Muschamp.

We picked the positional coach that no one had any interest in. No other program reached out to him. No other program gives a shite about him. Dude couldn't be bothered to start work here because he had to finish up coaching TEs at a school that barely used theirs this season.
We basicaly just punted on our program for at least the next 4-5 years. Now we'll get to watch Chadwell, Napier, and Freeze go on to other Southeast programs and have success, Fickell will go someplace and clean clocks out, Monken will keep winning 9-10 games a year, Clark will succeeded Saban, and we'll just be over here trying to get the finger out of the arse of our program because it's leaking so bad.

I would agree with the assertion anyone with HC experience would be a safer choice.
I never stated an opinion on Beamer. At best it was a risky choice.
However, it could be the best decision we have ever made.

The best part is that most of the former players who vouched for Beamer did so because they just wanted jobs with the program, and he was their best shot to land one.

Could it not have something to do with the fact that he was here and his recruits were the ones that had the right culture and talent to win here? I wasn’t a huge Beamer fan but I’m opening up to the idea. I wanted chadwell badly.

That's cool and all, but wtf is there to support at this point? His coaching staff? All the time he has spent coaching TEs at OU? This stage of the recruiting class (it wasn't his fault it sucked, but it still sucked)? Is there something to actually support at this time?

I think he's shown himself to be a man of his word with the players by finishing his job at Oklahoma. Winning the locker room and getting buy in starts with trust. By not running out on his now former team i guarantee he earned the respect of Carolina's players. And for people saying it was a meaningless game I'd like a conference championship. Maybe we're so accustomed as Gamecocks to doing things arse backwards that some of us can't or won't see things for what they are. Beamer is winning the press conference, he comes across as calm and organized, and by taking the advice of some very successful coaches about not rushing his hires, humble enough to learn. I hate i got pissed but damn at the unwarranted constant negativity. We don't know that Beamer doesn't have most everything in place staff wise as we speak just awaiting an announcement. I'm happy. I liked Muschamp the person and was vocally in favor of Chadwell but Beamers our guy now. Whats wrong with that?
