I asked this in the main board thread, but have we ever not played Florida mid/end-November before clemson?

A&M has that slot next year. Not sure how I feel about it.

I don't remember that ever being the case. I like next year's schedule though.

I would rather have games later in the year, than book 3-4 home games in September. This year has been hot AF.

As a tragic semi-related comment, I remember growing up getting smacked around all across November/last week of October thanks to UT, UF, and Clemson (with an occasional FCS in there).

I still remember a shirt we had that said something like "I Hate Orange" and it had Clemson, UF, and AU on it. Why AU and not UT is beyond me.

We didn't even add the FCS game in until after Holtz got here. Pretty much the first decade it was Tenn, Florida, Clemson back-to-back-to-back every single year, and that was when Tenn and Florida were both top 10 teams. We went into the Clemson game on a loss every single year, beat up, with no momentum. A recipe or disaster.

For some reason I felt like when we beat them in 05 that was in late September/early October, but I ended up being wrong. I guess it was just unseasonably warm that day in mid November.

I was at that game. I vividly remember looking at the scoreboard where they had just displayed the stats. UF had 21 points with 23 yards of offense.

That was the game where 1/2 the team had the flu.

Spurrier said after that game that next year the team was getting flu shots.

I'll also add it was the worst experience I've had with fans on the road. Before, during, and after the game they were just rude and in your face. Which I found surprising because we aren't really rivals and I figured their fan base was more casual as a whole, but they were way worse than the 7 combined trips I've taken to UGA, Clemson, and UT.

Granted, it was just 1 trip so maybe it was just a bad day...but my friend literally walked up to a tail gate just catch the score of whatever game they were watching and they told him no and told him to leave before he even got a chance to see the score. Never seen anything like that.

We got screwed that year.

We were supposed to play MSU at home. We had played them the year before in Starkvegas when Latti tore his MCL the first time blocking off the edge. Instead, they send us to LSU and then to Florida the next week.

I was at both games. We go to Baton Rouge and half the team gets the flu and brings it home with them. We go to Florida and a lot of us got to the hotel the night before the team arrived. I had a couple of good friends on that staff, a few actually, and we're down stairs to greet them when the team arrived the next day ... we were staying in Ocala.

One of my coach buddies walks in first and he walks over to my wife and I and says, "We're in trouble. Ellington, Byrd and (I think it was Ace) all three are running temperatures and there are probably 15 others with bad symptoms."

We knew right then we were screwed. We talked to Bruce Saturday morning and he had been throwing up all night and looked like shite.

Byrd was so dehydrated and weak they had him up in his room with an IV in his arm.

It was just bad juju.

We did. That team was perfectly build to beat Alabama. Instead they (the league office) cake walked the East to UGA.
