FitsNews!! Say what you will about FitsNews, but they were right about Sammy Watkins family getting hotel benefits in FL, I know that.

quote:

Perry Noble – the founder and senior pastor of South Carolina’s Newspring mega-church – was removed from his position this week by his congregation’s leadership.

The announcement of Noble’s removal – effective July 1 – was made by pastor Shane Knight during a Sunday morning service.

“Perry has made some unfortunate decisions,” Knight told church members, reading from a prepared statement.

As a result, “he is no longer qualified to lead.”

quote:

Last week, Leonardo Blair of Christian Post reported that Noble had been fired due to a combination of factors including “a terrible marriage, alcoholism and maybe more.”

We’ve heard similar reports – as well as other allegations involving the colorful religious leader. Additionally, we are investigating reports of improper conduct involving Noble and the Clemson University football program.

Stay tuned … it appears as though the saga of Perry Noble is just beginning.

Anybody go to church there and can shed more light on this?

It has been confirmed that Dabo Swinney is a member of Newspring Church as well.

It's always the overly religious ones, isn't it?

Don't mean to offend, but Freeze and Dabo?

Unfortunately, at least in my experiences, members there will defend Perry to the death. It's almost as if they worshiped him instead of God. I do know, some of his theology I was in disagreement with. I hate to see a man get beaten while he is down, although it was ultimately his choices that led to his downfall.

Besides that, I've heard these rumors in the past, too much so for it not to have some legitimacy. Hopefully, the truth will come out. I know we hate Clemson because they're Clemson, but some of the recruits they've snagged just doesn't seem plausible. We've all seen the pictures of cash and heard the stories, but nothing has been done yet. Maybe this will be the straw the breaks the sheep humper's back.

If the case I'm pretty embarassed. We are in the SEC we should be cheating a lot better than them.

We have more cash to spend..

Instead we give it to Softball or Sand Volleyball??

F that gimme a Cam Newton

I have been going to Newspring for a couple years now and really enjoy it. My wife and I were able to relate to Perry in part because of his love for college football. I put up with the constant jabs at Carolina because I had been doing that all my life.

We were hurt when the news hit about Perry getting let go, but we both knew that a church is not all about the pastor. We heard of others saying they were going to leave. I've heard that from other church members after a pastor moved on or was removed. Clayton King is the interim pastor and we both can relate to him as well. We are happy at Newspring.

If this is true, it won't change my feelings about the church. People are not perfect and those with a bit of popularity sometimes make bad decisions because of their status. I hope this is not true.

I'm glad you like your church, but I have to ask..please.see if you can find out of these allegations are true (i.e. using church $ to pay clemson recruits/players.)

I am not at the Anderson campus, but I can ask around. I know that he was a big fan and that players have appeared on stage and in videos promoting new series.

Hate to say it but the justice they deserve will not happen.Miami,Ole Miss, and especially UNC got basically caught red-handed and absolutely nothing happened to them. NCAA is not even on figurehead status with power.

I'll hold back on my opinion on Perry Noble and Newspring Church because it'll offend some posters.

I dated a girl from Anderson and went to Newspring with her several times. One time, CJ Spiller came up on a video to promote some kind of event that the church was hosting. I didn't really think anything of it at the time. Didn't know Dabo went to church there.
