This joker is rough compared to what I had two years ago.

And yes, I did get a flu shot in October.

The shot only protects against one strain. There are many and they try to figure out which will be the most prevalent that given year. The shot is suppose to help with symptoms of the other strains.

Incorrect. Vaccines are trivalent in most instances so they protect against a minimum of the three viruses or strains that the CDC predicts to be the most prevalent that season. Flu vaccines can occasionally cover 4 viruses or strains.

I stand corrected...they changed it in the last few years. The "high dose" does indeed cover three strains.

We all had the vaccine and my oldest daughter came down with the flu the Friday before Christmas. She only ran fever for 36 hours and was back to normal 2 days later. The vaccine reduced her symptoms significantly. Her dr prescribed tamiflu for my wife, other daughter, and I to take as a preventative. None of us caught it.

My wife and I are firm believers in elderberry syrup too. I have a hippy neighbor who grows her own bushes and uses local honey to sweeten it. I haven’t had a cold or sinus infection in two years since I started taking it daily.
