Kinda inevitable. If you're really going to implement Lincoln riley strats,qb run game is a big part of that. Hilinski not equipped for that

Also, Bobo hates him, and would rather play an actual cripple than Hilinski.

To hell with Beamer, Bobo, and Tanner. Hilinski had the potential to be an all-time beloved Gamecock, just because of who he was. But he didn't mesh with the collection of assorted dipshits that get hired as coaches here.

Best of luck, Hilinski. He'll be successful no matter where he goes.

Hilinski got such a bad deal here.

I'm gonna cry when Colin Hill starts games next season.

Hilinski had a bad break up and took it pretty hard. Barely made it to the building on time when other qb were the first ones there, kinda went through the motions on everything instead of actually competing. He did flat out get beat out by hill

I know Ryan's a good guy and the type of dude you wanna cheer for. And on the other hand hill took way too many sacks waiting for shite receivers to get open when he should've thrown it away.

The harsh reality is that ryan is a guy we all wanted to be good and had potential to be good but wasn't all that good when he was in and wasn't doing what's necessary to get better

Best of luck to him. He’s going to have a bright future in or out of football. I’ll root for him wherever where he does.

The 4-star QB curse at South Carolina strikes again.

Hope Doty feels safe.

The way some of these posters are talking about our offensive coordinator I'd have thought Bobo was the issue. Hilinski ought to be the one catching heat for giving his all to some chick instead of his team. I hate what happened to his brother but if not for that do so many grown fellas have this crazy man crush on a teenage QB? He's right to transfer though as the fit going forward isnt there for him at Carolina

I think we should be very hesitant to accept every bit of intel offered by our insiders, particularly over at TBS, as fact.

The rumors that Hilinski lost his competitive edge due to a harsh breakup may have had some merit in the late summer, but it is indisputable that Bobo practiced favoritism towards Hill before he even started competing for the job in the spring.

With Muschamp giving autonomy over the offensive depth chart to Bobo at the beginning of the year in hopes that it meant it could save his job, we have almost certainty that it was Bobo who decided to keep playing Hill, despite the overwhelming evidence by the 5th game that Hill just plain sucks.

Even if we were running a "reduced" version of Bobo's offense to accommodate our shitty WRs, there is no way it was completely over the head of Hilinski. There is nothing complicated about that offense. Furthermore, after the LSU-A&M-Ole Miss stretch and the season was lost, I don't understand how we can still be supportive of a guy who chose not to adapt in hopes of better results to raise morale and recruiting allure. He was even given an out to make a QB change with Kevin Harris being godly.

Spurrier would just throw guys out onto the field to see if they could do better than someone who started over them, and it sometimes worked, but at least he gave it a shot.

The insiders at TBS, who put out a lot of information that is often circulated on this board and Gamecock Twitter, have one goal: to keep Gamecock fans reading their site. To do this, they have to present the decisions of the administration and the coaches as almost infallible to give us all warm fuzzies about our program. If they had outright claimed that Hill blows donkey dick after the LSU game like they should have, they would be jeopardizing their own jobs by using their access to the program to shite on it. They had to frame it as Hilinski just not being up to snuff.

The bottom line in this whole mess is that Hilinksi had no real opportunity to show what he can do at SC. He was hampered by an anemic offense under McClendon, dealt with numerous injuries as a result of poor protection last year, and was screwed out of a chance to play by Bobo bringing in his own QB.

If anyone is in doubt about the Hilinski/Bobo dynamic, all you have to do is read what Hilinski wrote that I posed above. The silence on the (Bobo) issue is deafening.

I think Wes Mitchel said it best yesterday. At the core we have an OC who is best friends with our former hc. He knew that not winning was going to cost his best friend not only his job but likely his last opportunity to be a hc at this level. If you really think bobo didn't do everything that he could to win i just don't know what to tell you

Nobody should hire their friends if they want to stay in business. Muschamp is loyal to a fault, and it bit him in the @$$. Again.

Friendships and the like can blind people into doing the wrong thing(s). Bobo could have honestly thought he was doing the right thing. He wasn't. There's such a thing as short term thinking vs long term thinking. Starting Hill might have been good short term, but long term it was awful. One simple act has set our program back 5-10 years. Again.

Bobo's an idiot, I hate him, and I can't wait until he's as far away from our program as he can possibly get.
