Yeah, real solid pickup.

Apparently the only 2 times the teams have played have been in the 2002 and 1975 CWS.

We finally have the depth and talent on our pitching staff to contend with any team. I think 15 out of the 18 pitchers can hit 95mph or more. Let's see if the offense and fielding have improved.
The SEC is STACKED this year. They should just give the NC to whoever survives and wins the SEC.

What are you basing this on?

So you mean can our team play baseball?

Well I'm sure you're aware of the past injuries and depth issues of our staff. Our starters could keep us in games until we had to go to our bench. We now have quality arms, that also have major league speed, to support our starters.

Our championship teams were known for way above avg fielding and precise hitting when we needed it. My comment was based off of us being more like those Gamecock teams as compared to anything else.

As good as I think we can be our schedule is unbelievable tough. We , unlike a school in the upstate, play the best of the best this year. When we get to tourny time this team should be battle tested and ready to go.

Which pitchers are you excited about?

I think our lack of continuity is going to make it more challenging to know who should start, relieve, and close.

Farr and Jordan are 2 I'm excited about plus we have 3 freshman that have elite potential. I hope Kerry is back to form after his injury. We also have some good hitters. Here is Baseball America take on our team this year.

South Carolina has the upside to advance to the College World Series for the first time since 2012. Their deep pitching staff and powerful lineup will provide some real highs in 2021. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be growing pains along the way due to their inexperience. If the Gamecocks have refined some of their rough edges by the time June arrives, they will make for a tough out in the NCAA

Thats the key how fast can Kingston find the right pieces. Our schedule does not allow us the luxury of taking our time. I would also like to see him go with the emotional flow instead of the analytical stats all the time.

I'm not saying we will win it all but for the 1st time in 6 or 7 years I'm looking forward to playing the Lsu's, Vanderbilt and Florida squad. Add Texas to the Ooc schedule and hold on for the ride.

We don't need a new coach. Kingston has upped his recruiting back into the top 10 and has taken us to within 1 game of the cws already. His team this year is loaded with talent but with our schedule it could be a " We are back" scenario or a " damn this".

Wait, wait, wait.... he did what? I must've missed all of last season. I'm about to hope on and educate myself. I truly hope you're right. I"d like to be excited about something again, besides women's b ball. Which Joe Biden just fricked, cause Uconn will not exclusively recruit the parade all american top 100 and just tell them to identify as Juwanna Mann.

Speaking of, recall that 52 year old Army Vet that played college ball a while back.

Wheres her cover of Espy?

2019 NCAA Div. I Top-40 Recruiting Rankings by Collegiate BaseballVanderbiltFloridaSouth Carolina

2019 class ranked as high as 3rd

2020 Baseball America ranked us 6th and most every publication had us top 10

2021 is a small class but is still ranked in the top 15

Recruiting has not been an issue with Kingston as we have talent. I think he is wound too tight and the players reflect that. It took Ray loosening up and letting the guys have some fun before we started winning NC's.

4:00 1st pitch of the season. Farr is our friday night starter.

Game is on 107.5 and no todd ellis doesn't call the game so you won't be hearing " that was strike 4 we need a hit".

Yeah, if we're going to be worth a shite this year maybe someone should make a season thread.

I would love to have seen that 2002 CWS team in a 3-game series against Texas. That was the last year they had the single game final and we had to pitch Aaron Rawl (true freshman I believe) because we'd come out of the loser's bracket. That roster had Bondurant, Taylor, Spigner, Bell, Marchbanks and Campbell on it and was as deep as any team Tanner had prior to our title runs, with the exception of the 2000 team.
