With Game 1 just under two weeks away, I guess I'll get it started.

Looks like Nyck Harbor is going to be a gunner for the punt return team. I'm not sure, but that sounds scary to me. For the other teams...

quote:

“I thought Nyck did some good things. We got him out there and he operated efficiently,” Beamer said. “I noticed him when we did punt, what we call ‘punt pressure’ the unit that goes up against our punt team noticed him on that. A guy with his speed and size, you think would be pretty good at being able to block punts and spring returns for the punt returner. So he did some good stuff in that and working at receiver.”

Nyck Harbor 'did some good things' in South Carolina Saturday scrimmage

Also, can we sticky this one and un-sticky a couple of others??

Duke’s Mayo Classic featuring _ - Gamecocks matchup expects 60,000-plus fans

In a little more than two weeks, UNC Chapel Hill will play the University of South Carolina at Bank of America Stadium in a nationally televised, prime-time, season-opening matchup. Organizers told CBJ on Monday that Charlotte’s annual Labor Day weekend opener, known as the Duke’s Mayo Classic, is likely to attract a crowd of more than 60,000 fans.

INFO: 2023 Duke’s Mayo Classic to air on Channel 9

If that estimate pans out, attendance would be the highest to date for a Tar Heels-Gamecocks game in Charlotte. The teams previously met in the kickoff game in 2015 and 2019. Attendance was 51,664 in 2015 and 52,183 in 2019. Capacity at BofA Stadium is 74,000.

“We’re starting to see more and more attention on the game,” Charlotte Sports Foundation spokesperson Miller Yoho said. “We’re feeling good (about sales).”

The nonprofit sports foundation owns and operates the Duke’s Mayo Classic and the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, college football games that bookend the season. Both are played at the NFL stadium.

ESPN’s Saturday morning pregame show, “College GameDay,” will air from uptown on Sept. 2.

Getting absolutely embarrassed on ABC in game 1 is not a great way to start the season. Outside of Rattler, that team looked like trash.

Looks like I’ll have a lot more Saturdays in the woods again this fall. That shite was absolutely horrendous and that’s literally all I can say about it…it was shite.

Not sure what the fanbase expected. Most of our best players from last year took paychecks to play for other teams and the remaining best got hurt.

Let’s all go watch Bell play tonight now.

frick bell.

he has 2 touchdowns tonight which is good for him, but only 3 touches and a few drops. He is being used in the same way he bitched about here.

The only good note is that LSU looks like trash, so between us, them, and UF we all looked bad. oh well, its week one.

68723 official - and it was easily 70/30 Gamecock (48K) in BofA - UGA/Clemps was 73778 for their opener in 2021 and that was a split crowd between 2 top five teams -

Beamer blew an absolute perfect opportunity & environment to showcase Gamecock football on ABC - if W-B has 50K in it for Furman he better not say a damn word -

more please -

also Luke Kupp needs to remain at WR the rest of the way - Sellers is our #2 QB that will play well if Rattler isn't in the game -

apparently our visit to Athens will put a few streaks on the line for the home team -

19 straight wins (school record)
20 straight home wins (24 is school record 1980-83)
29 consecutive regular season wins (school record)

their last regular season and home loss ... ?

USC offense 13/14 in the SEC against FBS opponents - 330 ypg (MSU 14th 254 ypg)

USC defense 13/14 in the SEC against FBS opponents - 447 ypg (MSU 14th 480 ypg)

- every SEC team has played 2 games vs FBS - Bama & Vandy 3

up next - MSU at W-B ... Beamer cannot lose that game this season -

I think those numbers will even out a bit. We did get 2 ranked teams of our 3 games.

I know we shouldn't look ahead past this weeks game, but we're going to have fun with the annual "brisket isn't BBQ thread with A&M...
