Gamecock fans what are your early thoughts on the bowl game??

I like SC big. UVA barely made a bowl game in the worst conference in the country.

I think Virginia is a year away in the rebuild.

Wait, would it be a rebuild if Virginia hadn't built anything in the first place?

The Cavs seem to be right on schedule with Mendenhall. His first year they were terrible. The next year they were much better but still lost big. This year they were even better and 3 of their 5 losses came by a total of 10 points. Next year is the get over the hump year where they need to start winning those close games.

USC is 3-1 in close games, that should give them the edge to put away an improving Virginia squad.

Virginia officals gave a vote of confidence for furture re-entry to USC during Carolina's secession from the ACC - then proposed an outlandish fee for readmittance in '77 - it was either their AD Gene Corrigan or their President who threw that wrench in the mix.

Carlen was opposed to sharing USC's tv/bowl $$$ with the other 7 members and the plight to rejoin died on the vine.

the power struggle between Frank and Carlen/nutjob Holderman was a blessing in disguise long term. It set USC back during the late 70s-early 90s - but it kept USC from rejoing the ACC ...for later membership in the SEC.

as for the game - USC will move up/down the field as we did vs Vanderbilt. The red zone won't be an issue in this one for USC either. Virginia will score but their weak secondary and inept OL will hold them back.

Here's the silly thing about that. The letter "V" is symmetrical along the vertical axis. It drives me crazy when folks don't pay attention to small details....

so thats Kinlaw, Nixon, and Deebo.

I swear to God we are the only board that would do this. I'll admit, tho, that UVA fans are the coolest fans in the ACC. Have no issues at all with y'all.

Y'all do have to stand in solidarity with us in united hatred of Clemson, tho. It's a requirement of board privileges.
