So now Frank is calling out Tanner and the school for not cheerleading enough to get into the NIT.
Someone needs to point out that 15-16 doesn't deserve post season play nor cheerleading.

I feel this is what got him to us in the first place.

He clearly got into a spat with his AD, and even though he didn't get fired, saw he was hated among them and got out ASAP.

I feel he's starting to do this here. It's not the results it's his attitude about it. He knows waht he got himself into.

We aren't a basketball school.

he needs to go to a school that doesn't have football and where even a 15-16 team, fans showup because they love basketball and only have that.

St Joes just fired their coach.

ETA: do have to admit, he may be kinda smart here.
His buyout is 15.5 Mil I believe, or a little less still a nice chunk. If he does get into it with Tanner so much that he first him, he will get a nice check

This also shows as look at some of those kind of schools.
Butler Providence Creighton Wichita and Xavier all had subpar records,
Barely 500 to 500 with losing records or 500 in conference but they took NIT bids.
I think that’s the kinda school he’ll be better for
Of course i don’t see any of these schools looking for a new coach but just using that similar.
Maybe Depaul?

That job may be one of the worst in the country. They haven't been to the tourney in 15+ years and have finished last in their conference almost every year the past decade.

I've got a lot of thoughts on everything in this thread so I'll just list them out as they come.

1) I can understand Frank's frustration about not getting in the NIT if he feels Tanner didn't lobby enough on his behalf.
2) This is particularly true if something similar happened when we missed the NCAA in 2015-2016 - I'm still pissed about that.
3) On the other hand, Frank has no one to blame but himself. Whether injury, players getting in trouble, or just subpar recruiting... it always seems like we have 1-2 solid players but Frank can never get a complete team together. Combine that with inexplicable losses that have kept us out of the NCAA and the NIT and I feel like Frank should own up to more of the burden.
4) If we're going to have the coach and the AD clash, we should've just hired Gregg Marshall. Wasn't Marshall's abrasiveness one of the reasons we went with Horn? Maybe I'm wrong.
5) I understand that DePaul has sucked for a while now, but Oliver Purnell left Clemson for DePaul after 3 straight NCAA tournament berths.

I really think at this point Frank can’t lose.
He acts like this and what happens? He gets fired and has a whole lotta money.
If he doesn’t? He keeps his job and still gets paid a well

So? If he was scared of going to a program that is in the pits he wouldn't have come here after the Horn years.

The point is if a program like Clemson can lose their coach to DePaul after 3 straight NCAA tournaments, we can certainly lose ours.

There's the pits and then there's DePaul. Our program at its lowest point has been average at DePaul for the last 2 decades.

#1 How much cheerleading could/should Tanner do for a 15-16 team?

#2 You should be pissed at the ooc schedule we played to get that good record. You don't play a bunch of middle school teams and then claim you're deserving of a bid based off of that.

#3 I agree with that paragraph.

#4 We got Horn instead of Marshall due to Fogler not liking Marshall. Fogler has been our " search" team on the last 2 hires.

My issue is Frank is sure throwing blame everywhere except where it should be thrown and that's in his lap.

Alienating your boss and your fan base normally doesn't bode well for one's future.

He'll be paid handsomely at the end of it.

If that happens his future is fine where he will not need a boss.

I normally don't watch any coaches post game interviews, but I did see someone on Linkedin share a video of Frank saying something along the lines of "you didn't send your child here to win games, you sent him to me to make him a better man"

1) I completely fricking disagree with that.

2) for a guy who says shite like this it's funny he's blaming Ray for something like the NIT.

DePaul isn’t the worst
There’s actually a thread on the MSB about the toughest CBB programs to win at in the big conferences (i count the BE as a big one)

I was just saying I think he’d be better off at a school like that where basketball is their number one.

Now of course i don’t think they’ll pay him $2.8m. But if he were to get fired from here I think he’d take the paycut of $1m a year especially with the buyout he’ll get

1) I'd argue that Clemson, St. John's, and Memphis are normally considered to be very solid OOC opponents, but were garbage that year.

2) It's not like we bombed in the SEC. We finished 4th, were the only team to win @SEC Champs Texas A&M that year, and beat Vandy head to head who go in the tournament over us. We got hosed.

I want a coach to win games. Frank can be a mentor in the boys club and accomplish the same thing.

Same.

I really wish we hired Bruce Pearl
Then again he was only a year removed from Tenn

What he’s done to Auburn is what i thought Martin would do tonus
Especially after a final four run

Our first 13 games were against extremely weak opponents that year.
We lost to a horrible Georgia team not once but 3 times.
Went 0-1 in sec tourny losing to sorry Georgia.
Went 11-7 after winning our first 13.
Went 1-1 in the NIT.

15-16 we got fricked by a weak SEC.
We had 3 teams make the tourney that year and Kentucky wasn’t particularly strong. (By their standards)
