This is really quite amazing, y'all. Granted, the auction included helmets autographed by both Les and Spurrier...and that was Spurrier's last game as a collegiate coach which I'm sure added to the value...but I believe they said the previous record was somewhere in the neighborhood of $31,000 or something close to that.

This auction ended today and the jersey and helmets sold for $101K. Kudos to LSU and Fournette.

ETA: Bidding started at $7000 and quickly triggered a bidding war that drove the price up.

It's fortunate we get to host them in basketball this year. I hope (and assume) there will be something to repay the favor or at least honor LSU's efforts in some way.

I sure hope so. What they did for us was far above and beyond what any of us expected. One of those moments where SEC pride really shines bright. I know that I am definitely a lifelong Fournette fan bc of the class and sincere concern he showed for the victims of the SC floods.
