So you'd prefer me to be only legitimately critical when its warranted. I'm guessing when positive things are going on I should be happy. Feel free to let me know when that is, as far as I can see theres not shite to be positiver about as long are the Tards are in the building.

I don’t care what you do. I said I’m happy to let all opinions and feelings be shared hear regardless of my own personal opinion.

But yes, I personally feel there is a difference in being legitimately critical and being a Negative Nancy that goes out of their way to complain about everything.

Its no bit amigo, I'm tired of shite being the way it is and I don't mind making it known. I sat in stands with my Dad as a boy for Brad **** Scott. I sat in the stands with my Dad through the Holtz era. And I sat in the stands during the Spurrier era. I'm the only one of you that wears a Gamecocks hat daily and lives in Clemson. They don't like me, hit the fricking mute button.

Ray Tanner’s chances of losing his job as AD in the next two years are much higher than Muschamp’s are.

I don’t think Tanner will get booted from the school, but he will not be our AD that much longer
Muschamp definitely has atleast 2 more years

The Gamecock athletic department should be glad we still have football fans considering the ineptitude of this administration and past administrations. We hired an unqualified, bumpkin AD who by all accounts blackmailed his way into the job by threatening to quit his job as the baseball coach. We then hired a coach who couldn't win at Florida with all their tradition and talent. And then we go 4-8 and lose to UNC and App State in the same season.

Besides this nonsense, we have a bunch of geriatrics who've been on the BOT since the Reagan Administration making decisions about the future of our university. And we just hired a President who was voted down by almost half the BOT after the search for Pastides's replacement was handled worse than Tanner's football hire. There is zero reason to be optimistic about this program right now.

So lets get to the meat and potatoes and I don't want to hear it can't be done. I've done it 50 times in my 40 years on the planet.

How do we remove certain BOT's? I'm off the next 8 months, am funded enough to work this like a full time job. And believe it or not, am connected with some of our biggest donors. I'll hang up and listen to the old heads. I want names and how they get flushed, I'll work on the rest.

Okay, first question
Did you graduate from USC?

You don't. That's what the legislature does. The only way to change the structure of our BOT is through legislation. And good luck convincing the General Assembly to give up a political appointment likely bought with future favors.

Political pressure. That's about it.

And to impose that pressure you'd need the support of the connected and influential individuals who command the attention of the legislature... in other words, the Good Ol' Boys who are the very people that are keeping these shitstains in their positions in the first place.

So the likelihood that the Trustees that have enabled this mess are removed from their positions is virtually non-existent IMO.

No Sir, sorry for the delay. I took off for Cabo for a about a week and a half. Side note, if you guys want to see what a joke Covid is. Just travel to Mexico and experience how they handle it. And then fly back into the us where they won't ask you any questions or take your temperature.

So the bottom line is this, " are those positions appointed or voted in"? I agree with what you're saying about the backdoor favors but I'm just asking.

I’m not nearly as educated on what happens on the BOT or how one becomes a member of it, but from what SCLibertarian says, I listen to him regarding this
He has stated that he would like it for everyone on the BOT to be a graduate of the University (which they aren’t)

I’m assuming you wanted to become a member? (Although you’re most likely just fricking around here)

There are so many problems with our BOT, but the most immediate and biggest problem is that the appointments are virtually for life, unless a member just wants to step aside. And then when a new member needs to be replaced, it's going be screened by the legislative delegation for the specific judicial circuit that the member represents.

I'll give you an example. I live in Horry County, which is a part of the 15th Judicial Circuit. The BOT member for my circuit is J. Egerton Burroughs. He's been on the BOT for almost 15 years. The reason he's on the BOT is because of his political connections and his last name. His family is an old Conway family whose company owned and developed almost all of the Grand Strand from Cherry Grove down to Murrells Inlet. He got his undergraduate degree from Sewanee.

So how does he become a BOT member? Because the selection process is screened by the legislators who represent Horry and Georgetown Counties, the two counties in the 15th Judicial Circuit. And while this area of the state is pro-Gamecock, there are still legislators from here who have zero allegiance to USC. In fact, there are probably some Clemson fan legislators outwardly hostile to it. Beyond that, politicians are in the game for power and wealth. And having a man as powerful and wealthy as J. Egerton Burroughs owing you a favor for recommending his appointment to the BOT is financially beneficial to all of those Horry and Georgetown County legislators.

This entire process keeps normal people out of the university's BOT. You could sooner get elected to public office than you could be selected to be on the BOT. The problem is though, until we have structural change to the BOT, nothing substantive will change in our athletic department.
